Apple Motion makes the animating process extremely easy. You can create stunning animations from the very basic to complex, without having a lot knowledge about the craft. Moreover, Apple Motion is fun to use unlike its competitors and there isn't a steep learning curve. I truly wish Apple invested more to elevate this application. Who knows? Maybe they will in the future. And I am grateful to Motion VFX for keeping it alive.
  • Interesting companion to Final Cut Pro X

There's a learning curve to Motion for sure but it's interesting to be able to create effects and even alter some that come with Final Cut Pro X. You can purchase more effects and transitions for Final Cut Pro X from various sites online but I'd recommend just learning how to make them yourself in Motion. The customization options are incredible.

Learning how to use Motion takes a fair amount of time and effort, but once you understand the basics of how to use the software it opens up unlimited possibilities for creativity.

It is not possible to publish the project with audio sound in the Final Cut Pro Python cannot be used for scripting.
  • It's a very good app

Simple as that. It's a little tough to find tutorials-- either commit to reading the included documentation, or watch a channel like Dylan Bates on YouTube.
  • Very rough interface

It could be a great tool, but the interface is so rough and underdeveloped that it is infuriating to use. It never does what you want, most of the stuff is hidden away in weird places, and you'll probably miss 90% of its features. Feels like one of the bad Windows apps of yore. There just hasn't been enough deevlopment work put in that app on the interface side (understatement), which is probably why they don't let you preview it.

Seems decently capable, I know how to keyframe now. Poggers.
