Description

The Via Grand Prairie app makes it easier than ever to move around Grand Prairie, TX — with a few taps, book a ride using the app and we’ll pair you with others headed your way. How does Via Grand Prairie work? - Via Grand Prairie is an on-demand travel concept that takes multiple passengers heading in the same direction and books them into a shared vehicle. Using the app, input your address and we’ll match you with a vehicle going your way. We’ll pick you up on a nearby corner and drop you off within a short walk of your chosen destination. Now for the clever bit; our algorithms provide journey times that are comparable to a taxi and much more convenient than other modes of travel, making on-demand transportation easier than ever before! What we’re about: SHARED. Our tech matches people headed in the same direction. This means you’re getting the convenience and comfort of a private ride with the efficiency, speed, and affordability of a public one. SUSTAINABLE. Sharing rides reduces the number of vehicles on the roads, bringing down congestion and CO2 emissions. With a couple of taps, you get to do your part to make your city a little bit greener and cleaner, every time you ride. AFFORDABLE. Rides are priced comparable to public transport and you can add people to your bookings for even less. Questions? Expect to wait 2 hours even though Grand Prairie isn’t a large town.

Was a bit skeptical by the reviews but it really is a good system! I will say experience does depend on your driver and sometimes you have to walk somewhat further to get picked up but I overlook that because of the price. I was very pleased that long distances (in GP ofc) still ended up being $3. Very convenient especially for students I hope this stays for a long time!

This is the worst app to use if you need to go somewhere quickly. It’s so unreliable and takes like 30 minutes for the drivers to pick you up. If I could I would give this 0 stars.

The first time i went in a Via GP van will be the last, its affordable and cheap and they even accept cash but not good if you are on a timed schedule, if your destination is a few miles away and it usually takes like 15 minutes to get there, your probably gonna end up waiting an hour instead because you are sharing the van with other people.
  • Very nice ride

My friend and I booked a ride and we had to share the ride with other people just to get dropped off like .5 miles from our destination. And the other people were not in the back of the van so we had to quite literally put our behinds in their face to get to the back.
  • Ok if you have nothing but time on your hand

The service has some things to work out with the route in how they pick up. It’s definitely not going to be your first choice if time is of the essence for you. The routes are not considerate of destination/direction. The drivers do not always pick up on the route to your drop off. On multiple occasions they have backed tracked and went way in opposite direction then my designated drop off. This is definitely not for the convenience of getting somewhere in a timely manner. Also they need to consider the Grand Prairie residence a little better who reside at the border of Arlington. Just because I border the other city doesn’t mean I don’t want to shop in the city I live in. It’s also not fair because neither ride share picks up in the bordered location zone so I’m stuck walking extremely far just to use the service.
