  • Many bugs, but still excellent

I thought there was going to be a learning curve. Well, actually, not really. There are just a ton of features and capabilities to explore. It behaves as I expected. It is an indispensable tool for making UML diagrams and conceptualizing complex ideas for translation into code and system processes. Unfortunately, there are many display bugs. Application of colors, gradients and shadows are very inconsistent. Effects often disappear altogether or cannot be deleted once applied, requiring the shapes to be completely recreated. Support does not look good either. I emailed the author including video captures of bugs, but I did not receive any response, and the captured videos were apparently not viewed.
  • Pretty decent app

I switched from Windows to iOS a few years ago and have been searching for something that works like Visio. This app is pretty close. There's a learning curve but that's to be expected. The drawing tools between VD2 and Visio are pretty similar, but there are sometimes different names between the two for the same tool that takes some getting used to. There are a couple things that either I haven't figured out or else maybe it's a bug. The elbow line tool is a little weird. In Visio you can get the elbows to go around a shape until you get to the shape you want. In VD2, the moves are a bit restricted. Also when you're having a line connect from one shape to another, every possible connection point on the drawing lights up instead of just the shape you're aiming for. I don't use VD2 every day so I haven't figured out all its features. For my purposes, it works just fine and my only issue is I wish it were a bit more at Visio's level of tool movements. Bottom line, it does the job I need it to do.
  • Switching from Visio

I do not want to purchase a new version of Visio and Found Visual Designer 2. So far this is working out as I was able to import a fairly complex VSDX file with 18 tabs. It does not have backgrounds, but instead it has Layers! So far I like these much easier to work with than backgrounds. There is going to be a learning curve, but, not so much so far. Very complete app for the price.

I has been a pleasure to use and learn. I have yet to get the different arrows to change and work in dimensions but the program as a whole is great.
