Description

ElectricDesign(Pro version) is a graphical environment for creating electrical circuit plans, wiring diagrams via an intuitive user interface and electrically intelligent symbols in 2D. (* Number of objects/shapes added to each document is limited, you could Unlock the app to remove this limitation. *) Main Functions of the pro-application: - Support multi-languages: English, Deutsch, Français, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Português, Čeština, Dansk, Suomi, Italiano, Nederlands, Norsk, Polski, Русский, Svenska, ไทย, Türkçe, Tiếng Việt, 中文(中国), 中文(台灣) - Pre-Defined electrical objects: There are many predefined nice electrical, circuit objects for you to add to the design - Add custom items to Template list: Right click on a group of objects, then select "Add to template list" to save them so that you can reuse it later. Use this function to create your own interior item from many basic shapes. - Basic shape : There are many shapes to add to the design, including text box, round box, line connector, callouts.... - Over 3000 Beautiful Symbols: More than that, there are over 3000 beautiful symbols to add the view. Please press the "Smile icon" button on the left to add and select any symbol you want. - Drag/Drop Image from Finder (or press Cmd-V to paste image from current Clipboard): The application allows users to drag/drop many image files directly from Finder to current editing window. - Customizable shape: Drag (create new) custom object into the draw view, double click on it to edit shape Other basic functions: - Support sync to iCloud - Support Thumbnail view - Allow users to copy/paste selected layer, sheet - Support many arrow types (architectural ticks....) - Hold CONTROL to resize/rotate a group of selected objects - Support shape operation: Combine, Append, Separate.... - Allow to edit any object shape in a separate dialog - Support Rectangular/Polar array copy functions - Support to input Feet, inch with Fraction (e.g.: 2’ 3 1/2” ) - Distribute shapes (same space between multiple shapes) - press Cmd+Shift+T to move, resize group of items temporary - Support Find function to search for text - Customizable Color / Font / Size / Line Type - Unlimited Undo/Redo (shortcut key: Cmd-Z / Shift-Cmd-Z) - Auto Align with another object when resize or move - Export to png, jpeg, tiff, pdf image file (shortcut key: Cmd-E) Addition Pro-functions: - Support rich text format - Support multi-canvas (multi-tabs) for each document - Improve Grid setting, Snap setting (add minor step setting...) - Improve polyline object (support curve segment...) - "CMD-9" to change zoom to fit to canvas size - Allow to change arrow size of each line - Allow to change theme color of all items inside current document - Support fill setting: Pattern - Add modify functions: Copy/Paste properties - Add modify functions: Apply Gradient fill to multi objects - Unit setting for each document: each document support different unit setting - Allow to resize, move sub-object (which is inside a group) individually - Allow to resize canvas from all directions - User can move, resize object to outside of canvas's printable area - Improve app's performance - Allow to add hyperlink/description to shapes - Hold SPACE-BAR to maneuver/scroll around document - Hold ALT key then drag items to clone/duplicate - Hold 'A' key then drag mouse to create a new smart connection line - Add "keep proportion ratio" property - Improve ColorWell UI - Support rotated table - Press shortcut key 'F' to edit shape's path, points - Add more text-align setting - Add 'Merge layers' function - Improve UI of "More Shapes" dialog - Improve print dialog (add Detail controls to print dialog) - Allow users to copy/paste selected layer - Add Decimal Precision setting - Add more arrow types (architectural ticks....) - Support sync to iCloud - Import multi-pages tiff, pdf format

  • Needs tutorial

I've worked with autocad in the past, so I'm quite familar electrcal design programs and drafting. This app could be great if they had a getting started tutorial I don't have time to muddel through it.

I needed something to do electrical drawings that didn't have a subscription as I don't need to do drawings often. After a little while figuring out how it works, I found it can do everything I need. Recently I found myself needing something similar to Visio. I decided to google the designer of ElectricDesignPro and found Visual Designer. Perfect combination of apps for what I need.

Nice to be able to buy the App outright instead of paying a monthly subscription like most other money hungry developers crappy apps! Thank You!!!

VERY useful for straightforward circuit design.
  • Pretty good for the price

There is a good selection of component templates and such. The available functionality, hot keys, &c are all reasonably complete. My main complaint is that the polylines (schematic wiring lines) almost invariably make really silly decisions about what path they should take, creating overly complicated routes with NC humps. The two most frustrating things about this are 1) even when I draw the line using a direct, clear path with no other traces in the way, it still defaults to some crazy beeline and 2) I end up spending MUCH more time fixing these lines than doing actual design work. This seems to make a nice sketchpad for laying out schematics (and so far I'm only doing analog design; perhaps it does better with logic circuits?) but there does not appear to be a way to actually analyse and export actual PCB layouts, Gerber files, &c.

It has a rich library for electric components from basic to the more advanced ones. The program is easy to use, especially if you had experience with software such as Visio, and, to be fair, it is, in fact, better. I wish they could combine this software and the "Visual Designer 2", or at least make the shape library importable from this software to "Visual Designer 2". It would be great if you could offer the shape library as a purchasable package in "Visual Designer 2".
  • Love it.

Excellent job. Does precisely what I need with simplistic interface and shallow learning curve. Well done.

Very easy to use. I switch from autoCad to this app saving a lot of time. So far love it. Thanks to developers of this app. If I can impove something, Ill add more Icons.
  • Same horrible grid and routing issues

This app seems to be only just slightly better than the “regular” ElectricDesign app, but still suffers from the same cruddy grid snapping issues. What the developer is failing to understand is that schematic layout should have TERMINALS on-grid, not shape boundary edges! It is impossible to get “clean” wire lines between components (simple connections without “jogs” in the lines) due to the horrible snapping and “kindergarten” routing. (You don’t accrue extra bonus points for the quantity of wire segments in your schematic!) Again, component terminals are not labeled. Again, there are bugs in the app (for example, unchecking “Keep proportions” does not allow you to resize a shape in one direction only). Incidentally, “Keep proportions” should default on, not off. Again, you cannot rotate shape labels. Again, there is no grid or alignment tools for creating new shapes. The shapes “library” has Ground symbols but no Vcc symbols. It would be very helpful with browsing if symbols were listed alphabetically. The new UI has a lot of cropped text. Even with a maximized window some of the toolbar commands are cropped and not readable. That’s really poor UI design. Zoom is VERY slow at high magnifications but behaves normally when viewing the full canvas. The zoom seems to work logarithmically rather than linear, which is very frustrating when zooming in and out from maximum magnification. Undo (command-z) resets your view (panning and zoom) and current selection, which is obnoxious. Exporting also changes your current view. Although this “pro” version overall has an improved UI and the ability to add connection points to custom shapes is a very welcome addition, the lack of practical grid-snapping and wire routing that is just plain irritating gives the app a very amateurish appearance.

I was looking for a reasonably priced app to handle electrical design work. This is it! Highly recommend this app if you do any type of electrical/electronic design work.
