I tried to look up the word ouroboros to check the spelling and the word isn’t even in there at all. I don’t know if it’s behind a paywall and kept hidden, but the developers should be ashamed if this is the kind of cashgrab scam they’ve got going on.

This app used to be good, used to have all the upgrades separated so you could use them independently of each other depending on what you needed. Then they redesigned the app and made it extremely unpleasant to use. Not user friendly at all. They then come up with a second app that does the exact same thing with all the functionality this one had originally before they destroyed it and want to ream you by making you pay for the upgrades you already purchased on the app they ruined. Do not buy from this developer, choose another to give your money to.

I can see that I have add-on purchases. It says “purchased.” But when I attempt to restore those purchases, it says I have none. The app used to have other very fine features, which have dwindled over the years. Given all the options, I think I’m done with this one. Increasingly poor user experience.

Paid for 9 different app upgrades .. clicking around. It takes 20 random words to get an encyclopedic reference. Total shait. I use this app when I am writing and it disappoints full stop.
  • Core functionality works but UX is atrocious

How do you make a dictionary app, have every word on screen be a live link to the definition of that word, and then leave out any sort of ‘Back’ functionality?? Can I tell you how many times I’ve looked up a word, then tried to scroll down the definition only to accidentally hit the word “the” or “an” and have the app leave my page to show me the definition of “the”—and then not let me go back to my original word? How about EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE THIS APP. Also desperately needs to support split-screen view. How many use cases do you think there are where a user would want to have this app open alongside another app they were working on? Probably the vast majority. Does this app show you definitions of words and include a thesaurus? Yes it does and so for that it gets more than 1-star. But the experience of actually using this app is miserable.

The app functions properly, but they rarely ever update the app; so it doesn’t have lot of the basic new iOS features, feels like they didn’t update it for a really long time; like it doesn’t even have a dark mode or something, in the night, if you were reading something…
  • Doesn’t even support new iPad aspect ratio. Lame
