  • Email address collectors

Sonos has turned into just another of those apps that collects people’s email addresses by requiring people to sign up before use. I have an area where people stay and there’s a Sonos 5 in there. I tell them to download the app to control the speaker. Unfortunately they now have give their email address to listen to music. How idiotic is that??? Only 1 star, zero stars was possible. On top of that there are endless updates. No you cannot connect this music service because your system needs to updated first. No first must update your app. Then your speakers. Just leave me alone!!! This is outrageous and ridiculous. If it ain’t broken then don’t fix it! At least allow me to continue using it without having to upgrade every time I open the app!!!
  • Garbage app

This app is full of deadends causing a horrendous user experience. I had to sign in via a second account but cannot delete the repeated account (even the website returns zero results when searching for the option - *dark pattern*) But the most annoyed user experience is that the app won’t work with my preferred browser settings, because to login I have to leave the app 🤔. So I have to make changes (ok I can do that and change it back) but the app is such garbage when I allow access to my local network I’m still blocked because the app still tells me to do what I’ve already done. This has happened with Local Access and with turning off my pop-up blocker. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling, tried 3 different browsers. I am pretty confident now that the gift from a friend was really a gift from an enemy.
  • Popup Blocks Troubleshooting

Sonos App design is absolutely the worst for both S1 and S2 if you have a mix of upgradable and not upgradable products. Both apps immediately create pop ups with no options, that can’t be navigated around for troubleshooting. Infuriating…
  • After upgrade does not connect to my Sonos system.

After upgrade I see blank screen at the bottom where I would control my Sonos speakers. “Recently played” shows an error message “can’t connect”. The app has all the permissions. Reinstalled the app, but still does not work. I have not been able to use my Sonos system for more than two weeks ever since the upgrade came out!
  • Woeful Customer Experience

Just look at how many unhappy customers! I have thousands of dollars of equipment, all completely useless to me. Failing to make the new (also flawed) app backwards compatible was the beginning of the end of Sonos, and now for me at least, nothing connects or works with either app. Sonos like to blame you and your internet but surely for the amount these units cost you could have created a user friendly product that is intuitive? I have spent many hours attempting to reset up after moving home and using the fabulous Eero MESH network and I have now officially Given up. Just waiting now for a Sonos competitor to deliver what I need before reinvesting. All I want is a 3-6 speaker system, linked across my house seamlessly and the ability to play music from Spotify. Is there anything out there?

Owned sonos product for years!! Great sound quality. Software has always been top notch as well but the new update does not allow you to edit the order of the songs in the queue. Please PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!
  • Don’t Update

Not sure what happened to this latest version. Why did they take out the sleep timer? Also, they redid the entire interface and now I don’t know where anything is! WTH? To make it even worse, their support notes says maybe it’ll be available in a future version of the app. Please bring the previous version back with the sleep timer!

Thanks for replacing a flawed, but at least functional app with garbage. I’m motivated to move to google pod now

I have had Sonos in my home since 2014. Why take away ALARMS ?? Why take away all the controls for my home theater speakers??? Updates should add new features. Not take away previous functionality!! Get it together Sonos!!
