  • Worst product I’ve ever owned

These are all garbage. Do not buy Sonos products. They are horrible as are the people that work there. This company should fail the products are so bad.
  • Fix the software!!!!!!

I literally cannot use my several thousand dollars worth of speakers because the app is garbage. Songs skip on their own, speakers drop in and out. The app can't connect to music services. I have reset and reinstalled every speaker multiple times and they are still paper weights. This is beyond frustrating.
  • Too pricey to have to think so hard!!!!!!!

The App is behind times and it takes too much work to figure it out when hooked to your TV.
  • Broken upgrade

Now locked into a mandatory update before the product can be used but it is a broken “fix” that gives an error on every part, every speaker and even the central box. Once again an insane and unworkable upgrade. Congratulations on making bad even worse! A letter from the CEO offered an apology for the disastrous upgrade that actually destroyed the system. The “letter” said look for some fixes in July and August so welcome to September and to no surprise…no fixes. How did he / she the CEO slow the debacle to happen? How is it allowed to continue? Did you destroy the last version and cannot even get that back? From good to bad to .. worthless!
  • Forced updates are 100% unnecessary

Overall love Sonos despite their recent missteps and regularly recommend them (and defend them online), but forced updates are never, ever (ever!) necessary. The system wasn’t updated for the last 20+ hours when I wasn’t using and the world didn’t end. And it worked fine yesterday (not literally but for any update), but now I can’t listen to music when I have people over till the system updates? We’re all sitting here in silence waiting. Even if it’s “super important” or even “critical”, it can wait till later in the night. It should always be an option to auto-update later that evening after hours. Please explain why not. I work in the home tech industry and have thought about this a lot. Please give us the option!

    Trash.
  • So done with this app and Sonos entirely

I’ve had multiple Sonos speakers for a few years now, and over the years I’ve found them and the app to be horrendously glitchy. Sonos did this big PR bit on how they were doing a big app refresh and how they were so sorry for the experience consumers were having a year or two ago, and I thought maybe things would get better. Fast forward to now and everything is just as bad. Random volume spikes, speakers dropping out of the system, random pauses and track skipping. It’s actually insane that anyone is rating this app 5 stars… maybe they just paid for a bunch of fake reviews. All that said, I’m not giving Sonos another dime, and will be selling my entire system as soon as I get a replacement setup. This is a company that clearly doesn’t have it together behind the scenes.
  • Drops Spotify, where’s the bass & don’t trust updates!

Latest (5/20/25): “Your Sonos Arc intermittently stopping Spotify playback is a known issue linked to Spotify Connect and Sonos integration. Many users report Spotify streaming stopping randomly or freezing, especially during ads or playlist playback, while other services or devices like your Echo speaker do not have this problem.” Previous post: The only thing I use this app is to control volume and the bass which takes multiple steps to get to - move it to the front (things there aren’t needed. Also I never update unless forced to as I read horror stories by those who do. Always nervous that my speakers in the living room or bathroom will become a brick as others have noted before.
  • 80.20.35 breaks everything AGAIN

It’s like 2024 all over again. The app won’t play any of my Sonos playlists. It won’t group speakers. It times out anytime I try to do anything. Why is the app moving backwards in functionality? What have you done this time, SONOS? Why can I play a SONOS playlist from my Apple computer but I can’t get it to play if I use the iOS app on my phone??? Infuriating that you have somehow broken what you had fixed — after breaking all these things once already. I am going to throw every single one of these components into a bonfire, the moment that I can. I hate this company so so much.

Very sporadic. Not very intuitive. Constantly freezes up.
