Description

The Anova Precision® Oven is the first combi oven with pro-level features designed specifically for the home cook. Paired with the Anova Oven app, you’ll enjoy a fully connected cooking experience and the most advanced features of the Oven. Break out of your everyday cooking routine with inspiration from the step-by-step recipes developed specifically for the Anova Precision Oven. With the connected app, you can start cooking with a single button press and the Wi-Fi enabled Oven will preheat to your recipe’s recommended settings. As your food cooks, you’ll be able to keep an eye on your timers and food probe readings remotely, and notifications will alert you when it’s time for the next hands-on step. If you want to cook freestyle, you can create your own multi-stage cooking programs in the app. Define the oven settings for each stage of cooking and the transitions between stages to build stress-free, no-compromise recipes for all of your favorite foods. Your cook history is stored automatically so you can replay your past cooks, or share your recipes with the community. Features: - Explore our library of recipes created specifically for the Anova Precision® Oven. These recipes span meals, cuisine types, and cooking techniques to educate and inspire you to create your new dishes. - Learn step-by-step techniques by following along with clear photos and easy-to-read instructions from top recipe creators. - Start cooking any recipe with a single tap. The cook settings are sent to your oven directly. - Quickly convert recipe/packet settings to use in the oven or save as a full recipe, including ingredients, steps, and oven settings converted for the Anova Precision® Oven. Monitor your cook by watching real-time temperature and timer readings. View the oven’s temperature and steam settings, and even monitor the core temperature of your food when using the included food probe. - Go freestyle with manual cooking. You can start cooking from the app or from the oven itself without relying on specific recipes. - Make adjustments on the fly. If dinner is ready but you’re not, add a holding stage to your cook so your food remains at its best. - Create multi-stage recipes. Most foods have multiple cooking goals, like achieving juicy meat and crispy skin. Separate your cooking into multiple oven stages to optimize for each goal, like the pros do. With full control over oven functions and the ability to transition automatically based on timer or probe targets, true multi-stage, combi cooking is finally available for home cooks. - View your cook history. It’s like having a DVR for your Oven — recipes and manual cooking sessions are automatically saved to your history, making it easy to revisit your favorites. Try all the features free for 14 days. Options in-app for monthly or yearly subscription terms. Payment will be charged to the iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal cost will be identified. Subscriptions may be managed by the user, and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. • Buggy since Oven 2.0 release

The app has always been rough around the edges, but since the new oven features have been added, it is FAR less reliable than it was. Functions don’t work consistently they way they should, or don’t work as described at all. (Try doing something simple like using a program from your history without manually clearing the previous settings first.) Very disappointing, and won’t be recommending the Anova Ovens to anyone until this is sorted.

I can no longer edit the recent activities list…
  • Subscription Model

They are changing over to a subscription model just to use their app. I’m grandfathered I’m currently, but this will seriously affect my decision about whether to buy more products in the future. They say “developing and hosting all these recipes costs money” but they gloss over the fact they could easily put up a paywall for content like that. Don’t charge me to use an app for a smart device I paid big $$$ for!
  • Ok until now

Rolling out a subscription to run your own oven…ridiculous
  • Horrible app

May just be the worst app I’ve ever used. Once you start a cook it is extremely laggy and unstable.
  • Junk

They rarely upgrade the app, but when they do they make it worse. It can’t even load oven settings from a recipe.
  • The Best!

  • Oven is great, app 1.2.1 is fraught with dangers

This is a 4 star product with a one star app, especially if you upgrade. It forgets my recipes It automatically transitions stages when it should not. Beware if you proof your dough and set a manual transition to a preheat stage. It won’t!
  • App could use an overhaul - can’t believe they’ll charge people for it now.

The recipe structure is confusing, with extra stages required to do simple tasks. One of my recipes’ photos and title cleared after use for no clear reason. My wife can’t use the app on her phone or share my recipes so it’s much harder for us to share the oven. Maybe now that they’re charging for it it’ll get better but I fear it won’t.

After Anova had to introduce their subscription and do a bit of a redesign, most of my custom recipes are gone now. Looking online, I’m not the only one with this problem. Kinda sad that their added value of the subscription and redesigned was implemented sloppy enough that my stuff disappeared.
