Description

Sudoku Extreme is a beautiful way to experience classic Sudoku puzzles for both beginners & advanced players! It's a great way to keep your mind active while relaxing to pass time. Each puzzle has only one solution. The puzzle comes with a few cells pre-filled. Your job is to fill the remaining empty cells. Fill the empty cells with numbers 1-9 in a way that each row, column and block (3x3 cells) only contains a single instance of the number 1-9. - No ads. No subscriptions. - 6 levels - beginner, easy, medium, hard, unfair and extreme. - It is highly customizable with many beautiful themes as well as settings to customize the app exactly the way you like it. App comes with both light and dark amoled themes to be comfortable on your eyes! - The simple to use notes and hint features help you if you get stuck but we encourage spending time trying to figure out the puzzles without using hints. Cells filled with use of hints don't get any points. - Haptic feature gives a positive vibration when correct and negative vibration when wrong answer is filled. This can be disabled in settings. - If you make a mistake you can use the undo, delete and redo buttons. Note that each mistake deducts points from your overall score. - Long press the undo button to restart the game - After a game is finished, you get your overall stats like total time spent, best time, average time, overall score, hints used, mistakes made etc. Sudoku Extreme also comes with a graph of how your scores progress over time. As you play more difficult levels, you get more score. Each higher level gives twice the number of points as the previous level. - Game can be paused and you can resume the previous game when you come back. - Sudoku Extreme can automatically pre-fill the notes and auto-remove them when they are used in a row, column or block. Though we encourage disabling this setting and filling it manually as it makes your brain more active! Manually filling notes also gets you extra points! - The quick fill feature lets you tap-and-hold a number and then simply tap cells and it will fill it with that number. - Numbers show how many instances of that number are left to be filled in the puzzle. When a number has been used 9 times correctly, it hides itself. You can disable this setting if you like. - You can swipe up/down to enter notes numbers quickly without having to enter edit/note mode (setting needs to be switched on) - "Export Scores" from the app. This can be used in Excel. - Advanced levels, Themes & Settings customization are part of a small one time only in app purchase. No subscriptions. No ads. I offer a beautiful app free of ads, subscriptions, trackers and analytics for the absolute best experience for my users. If you are enjoying the puzzles, please leave me a positive rating on the app store as that helps get the word out to others! You can also purchase the one time only small in app purchase to help support development and future updates! Hope you enjoy the puzzles! • Resume unsolved puzzles feature!

I wish this app would save unfinished games so I could go back later and try to solve them. Once a new game is selected there is no history of previously unsolved games. The hints only reveal a square instead of offering a suggestion for the next possible move. The medium puzzles are waaaaay too hard considering the easy puzzles are a cake walk. I complement you on the dark theme. I would suggest two rows for the candidates at the bottom of the puzzle, it is too easy to press an incorrect digit. Also, a box around them looks nice. (See the NYT sudoku app) It would also be nice to have an on/off toggle for the automatic pencil candidates (also see NYT app)

Ever since the update its way too easy. The features are great and I used to love this app. Was hoping it would go back to being challenging after some feedback from others. Anyone else feel the same? You have to pay to get the harder levels.
  • Probably my favorite sudoku app

I’m enjoying this version of sudoku. Most of the features that are needed in a sudoku app are here. The hard puzzles are VERY challenging. I appreciate the automated pencil mark feature very much. The highlights are useful (though I do find some color themes to lack sufficient contrast). I have a few suggestions for improvement: The “coloring” technique is not an option on this app and it could be a very useful addition. I sometimes use a solver to learn more about the extremely difficult techniques. It would be nice to be able to export the board in its current solve state to make that easier. Or, maybe the hint option can give a tutorial on the technique used to move you ahead, rather than just exposing an answer.

Unless you’re looking for a version of sudoku that’s already filled in and doesn’t require any thought, you will have to pay. Some apps require you to progress though the tiers to unlock the next difficulty but this one doesn’t offer that. Beginner is the only free option

The limitations of the game are overly cumbersome. All hints are filled in and it records incorrect answers if you try to leave a cell without selecting a number. There are an impressive amount of options available but you are required to purchase the app to get anything offered. This is not something I would recommend to a young adult that is trying to enjoy a few minutes of quiet or anyone else that is looking to relax. There are other similar apps out there that better put together.
  • Chose it for the Privacy; stayed for the Customization

Edit: I think the scoring system is broken at a certain point. Still a 5 star game, but until I can see the specific calculations for each of my highest scores, I cannot remove this. I read the scoring template and it holds true up to a certain point, then you’re capped So many ways to customize this game! Was not expecting this. First app I’ve purchased in a long time. Great job! I am curious about the scoring system because my friend and I cannot increase our score anymore. It feels like there is a cap.
  • Really wonky levels

I bought this app because I liked the features and set up enough. But I increasingly regret it because the skill levels are truly bizarre. I don’t know how else to describe it. I’ve been playing sudoku for years and I usually play medium or hard levels. On this game, beginner is hard… and it goes up several more levels. It’s so strange. When I want to relax I like to ocassionaly play an easy level just to zone out for a bit, but that’s not possible on this app. If they’d fix this issue and make the levels more appropriate to their category, I would give it five stars. As is, I find it really obnoxious because I play most often late at night to relax and even the lowest level wakes me up because it’s a challenge. Seasoned sudoku players should be able to breeze through the beginner level.
  • The Only Good Sudoku App

Literally the only sudoku app I’ve found that doesn’t take your data, zero ads, dark mode, AND the developer is actively improving it based on user feedback. I paid the $3.50 to unlock the rest and that was it. Can you add a feature that allows me to turn off the highlighting of rows/numbers when I select a box to input a number? Similar to how it is when you’re adding hints? Thank you!
