Game changer nice app to get real info and also share what you have

I don’t know how far of advance they do their models but this morning I went out to photograph the sunrise. Alpenglow gave it a 57% chance of a good sunrise. It was foggy out with no sun whatsoever. This has happened to me more times than not you know the old saying, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in Well every once in a while, this app hits a home run, but it’s very few and far in between. Don’t spend your money on the paid version. It’s that simple.

The design and feature set are great, but it’s quite buggy. Location services breaks all the time and complains about lacking permission. Their metrics for what makes a good sunset are totally opaque and don’t match reality at all, at least in my area. The best I can tell is they try to predict the color of light scattering with no regard to cloud types/levels.

I have been using this app for the past 10 days and have been disappointed in the color accuracy. I have missed great sunsets because the app rated it fair and have woken up early to great forecasts to find out the sky was completely cloudy. Not sure where the data is pulled from but this app needs some work. I would try again if the algorithm is improved as the promise is a great one for photographers.

It predicted a great sunset days ago for tonight and reminded me all day to not forget. Wow, what a beautiful sunset.
