Duplicates all the photos you already have in iCloud with no ability to undo. Do not use.

I only put five stars so that this comment would get noticed. For some reason, anytime I select a video or picture the app just completely freezes. I have to close the app for it to actually unfreeze. Please fix this. I have a YouTube channel that when I need to upload a video that I didn’t have space for on my regular photos app that I had deleted because it was saved on Google Photos is now stuck there and I can’t use it. I need you to fix this.

It’s been months and this is still an issue. The pop-up suggestion to “turn off photo stacks anytime” pops up incessantly. Every 5 seconds, as I try to scroll through my photos, this same infuriating pop-up interrupts and freezes all functionality until it’s done giving me its suggestion for a few seconds, or until I click on it. It’s driving me crazy, and with all the other complaints I’ve seen about it, I don’t understand how it is still an issue!!

I get Google has gone full evil but dear god to edit 1 photo that is already there does not need full access to all photos. Evil f’s for the win I guess

Please update and fix the bugs. I can’t trust this app with my photos and videos anymore because the app is so messed up. I can’t access my photo albums. The share button freezes and crashes the app. I can’t even download MY OWN PHOTOS. This needs to be fixed asap. I hate to do it, but I’m already looking into alternatives.

“google photos needs full access to your photos” you can only fully use this app if you can give them all your photos. This is so creepy. You have 0 privacy if you use this app.

True to Alphabet, it wants ALL your data. Horribly invasive with a “privacy policy” that’s pure trash. There are MUCH better photo sharing options out there.

My friend has an Android and asked me to upload pictures to a Google album. It was easier to download the app than to upload to the link. Within days Google sent messages saying I’m about to no longer receive emails because everything was full, but I could conveniently pay for more storage. I deleted a ton of emails and my storage immediately was full again. I deleted forwarded accounts. I deleted items out of my Google drive. I deleted photos. Weirdly, Google had pictures from my phone. That’s when I discovered that Google had access, by default, to my iPhone photos and was uploading them to their cloud storage. I’m not happy with Google and their tactics, to say the least.

Why do you need full access to photos? Why is there even an option for limited access if it doesn’t do anything. Stupid google.
