Can't use it on newer macbooks

I use this all the time, and it's invaluable (and highly accurate). Really impressed with how well it works and how easy it is to use.

Identified every song I tossed at it. Most were easy but there were a few odd balls.

Shazam is the best choice for detecting songs, but the Mac version is severely lacking. It cannot detect songs quietly (I use third-party app Loopback to route audio internally), and most notably, IT WON'T SEND SONGS TO AN APPLE MUSIC PLAYLIST!!!! So after a long auto-Shazam session of several hours and hundreds of songs, you have to manually enter them into a playlist if you to keep them organized. The iOS version has this feature so it's unbelievable this one doesn't.

This only detects musi or song that is captured from a microphone. It cannot detect anything that is playing from your screen. If you are playing a youtube video in headphones, it cannot tell you the name from that video, since it only detects from headphones or the built in mic. It will be like youre not listening to anything.

the app is not recognized in the macbook system preference to turn on Mic to idenify songs. why?

Shazam successfully identifies more music than any other music identification app I've used. And it's fast! Great development team and app.
