The app has been severely downgraded with the new UI update. It makes it actively harder to find new comics and read my existing comics. Hopefully Webtoon rolls back the changes because this was a FLOP

I love this app so much but the problems are really annoying to deal with. The first problem is the updates deleted some of the comics that I was reading and says that I haven’t read them. Another reason is that when I am signed in it logs me out! It lets me log in and a week later I’m suddenly logged out. Something really annoying is sometimes after a season ends, we have to wait months for it to come back. I have been waiting almost nine months for a new season.

This new user interface is horrid. The smaller font and images, the low contrast of grays ,just to name a few, are contributing to a negative user experience. Make everybody’s lives easier and just revert it back 🫰

i think most of the webtoon users have seen the update and the way you can’t search by genre and the video previews make it really hard to get a grasp of what to read. i prefer being able to see the ratings and search with cover and by genre, not having the option is lacking.

Fantastic app that I have been using for years and the updates suuuuuck. Layout is busy and much harder to navigate. It’s not enjoyable to look for new content and the overall aesthetic now feels cold.

I’ve been using this app since 2017. Witnessed many changes that were positive. However, these new layout changes have affected my experience as a user negatively. It’s very difficult to navigate. The New&Hot page already ruined the flow of the layout; I understand the appeal of wanting a “TikTok” look, yet it’s been difficult to find new series ever since. I’ve ignored it completely and moved on. But the change in the chapter layout with this new update is such a disappointment. Webtoon’s layout was what made it so appealing to me in comparison to other platforms. Please go back to the old layout.

Webtoons was so good with the clean and simple UI now it’s all come crashing down in a month. Horrible UI so ugly and clicking on the stories to view episodes is even uglier.

Why is it every time I open this app they’ve messed with the UI in a way that makes it consistently more difficult to navigate? They keep pointlessly moving everything around when the original design was simple and intuitive. I am rarely able to tell when anything I read has even updated bc they’re too busy flooding the home screen with the same copy paste unoriginal isekai and toxic romance manhuas, effectively drowning out any actually original content and the content that I was actively reading. They’ve now changed the entire about page for mangas so that it’s basically the complete opposite of its original orientation, like literally why would you do that. Not to mention how bad ads have got, literally blasted with them in THE MIDDLE of reading a comic. I’ve gotten several ads for “literature” apps that feature romanticized descriptions of SA. Disgusting and triggering. Last update is so bad I think I might be done. Go read comics on literally any other app.

Update: 3–>1 star The layout changes are ridiculous and unnecessary. Been using the app for years and this makes me wanna delete it I’ve been reading WEBTOON for years and have loved every bit of it. But this past month, there’s been an ad pop up (for Starr Insurance Company) that takes up half the screen. There’s no ‘x’ and the only way to close it is to close the app. It’s very frustrating and has been happening more and more frequently.
