  • Same tree over and over

The same tree using different names, but the same clues repeats over, and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. I haven't counted the number of times the same tree is played with the same clues only changing the names, but it must be 30 or 40 times before a new tree is finally reached. This gets very boring. The game gives a clue like X is the son-in-law of a farmer. Well, I've long ago memorized that the farmer is in the first bubble. I don't even have to read a clue when beginning a new game. I just have to find the character dressed like a farmer to complete a bubble. Other clues may be Y is the nephew of Z. I may not have yet found the uncle Z's name, but knowing where the the same worded clue fits into the puzzle, I can prematurely fill in Y for the nephew. If the game had randomly chosen tree puzzles for variety, I wouldn't be able to memorize the clues and it wouldn't be so boring. But, it doesn't.

Interesting game but it would be nice to be able to play two levels in a row without having to pay for ad removal.

I love the concept of this game and a lot of the features are fun additions to the main gameplay. I also love that you incorporate user feedback. To that end, I have a few suggestions. 1. Make the purchase options cheaper. This game isn’t mature enough to charge as much as you are to get rid of the (TERRIBLY FRUSTRATING) ads. I’m not opposed to paying $2-3 to remove ads, even for a month or 2, for a game I enjoy, but you’re asking for wayyyyy too much. 2. The ads are too much. They are the kind of ads where you have to click 5 times to get back to the game. This is frustrating and makes me search for alternatives. Idk how, but I’m sure there’s a way to choose what type of ads will go in your game - please choose more user friendly ads. 3. Offer a help/instructions menu. I find myself with questions that I can’t answer from any menu (at least not one I can find, so if it’s there, consider making it more apparent), and it would be helpful to have an instruction manual or FAQ section in the UI. 4. Some of the “step” relationships are incorrect. Often, a relationship that you call step-siblings, should be half-siblings (when they share one parent). Also, the ex-wife of your father is not typically your step-mother, unless he remarries her again, which would be hard to show in a family tree! The CURRENT wife of your father (who isn’t your mother) would be your step-mother. 5. This app uses far too much battery power. I’m not sure why it’s such a big app, but it uses up battery power faster than any other app on my iPad, even when I am offline or it’s only running in the background. Please look into this, since it is preventing me from using the app when I’m not near a charger (and, therefore making me less likely to pay for an upgrade). Again, this is a very fun game & I think you’ve done a great job of maintaining it - I haven’t experienced crashes or bugs, which speaks to your skills. I wouldn’t take the time to write such a long review if I didn’t enjoy the app! Thanks for creating it!

I really enjoy the game but some of the levels I have played include incestuous relationships between cousins, and it makes me really uncomfortable.
  • Stop with the use of senseless pronouns.

The game serves well as the logic puzzle that it’s supposed to be but the creators caved and went woke for absolutely no reason and serving no value to the game. The creators included gay individuals, which In itself I have no qualms, but it went too far by adding incorrect pronouns to individuals on the tree. A logic puzzle doesn’t care what a person identifies with in any way! It doesn’t care. It only cares what the biological gender is of each individual. The use of incorrect pronouns describing individuals on a logic puzzle is confusing and thus illogical. If the creators could correct this insanity, I could rate this app 4 stars. It’s fun, and lots of different side games but the confusion and forced agenda was too much, and I deleted the app. Sorry.

  • Easy Puzzles - Prevalent but Bearable Ads - Heteronormativity?

Pretty good puzzles, especially if you’re only playing for 10-20 minutes at a time. Lots of ads, but I’ve seen worse in other free games. For this type of game, (cheap graphics, pushy micro transactions) I had an enjoyable time playing this! This next bit is a little odd, but there are no gay people in this game? I noticed early on that when completing a family tree there would only ever be male/female marriages, and in the “couple matching” levels it was only ever female/male as well. I thought this was odd, but also just figured that, like most ad-money milker apps, the game is an overseas product and casual gay inclusion can’t really be expected from some of the countries that produce many of these games. I mostly just thought it was kind of funny that my puzzle game was heteronormative. Maybe I’m a bad critical consumer, but it only started to bother me once levels were essentially incorrectly designed because of the game’s insistence on straight people being the only people who are married. I encountered levels where correctly following all of the instructions led me to be able to theoretically complete the family tree with either a straight or gay couple. (Ex. A pair of siblings were all I had left to place in the tree, and no gender distinction was given as to who was married to a woman already placed-it could logically be either the brother or the sister based on all the other instructions) Of course, the only right answer in this app is the straight answer-but it annoyed me that the puzzle was essentially incomplete in nature. Most players are going to remember that gay people exist, pretending that no player is going to try that as a solution is obtuse, even from homophobes. I guess this means I’m fine with homophobia if only the game acknowledged that that’s what it was doing? I can’t believe I wrote a review about a free-to-play ad-money milker and the implications of its casual homophobia. Have a good day-go outside maybe.

I really liked this game! But after not visiting it for a few months, I’ve noticed it’s very ad heavy. And it’s so expensive to get rid of them. Such a shame, used to be fun but not worth the money or ad playing time.
