  • Check your subscription

They don’t make it clear it’s a subscription. Then, they don’t give you a warning that you’re about to be charged again if you don’t cancel. Next thing you know, another $200 charge taken out, and the refuse to help you when this happens.
  • Charges before trial end, meal plan and recipes lack nutrient breakdown.

I tried a trial of Noom - it was okay, there is clearly some useful information in the app. But it’s not what I needed. I needed a meal plan with a macro nutrient break down which noom breaks it down by color, and some way to reinforce topics other than learning it one day and expecting to remember it in its entirety weeks later. The first time you enter YBP, it isn’t remembered- but what was remembered was me telling it I didn’t remember what it was, so then each time after Noom told me YBP was “I don’t remember” in future lessons. Furthermore you can’t make a weekly commitment goal without charging it with someone; which I didn’t want to share my particular goals with anyone- so that feature was immediately useless to me. Noon only gives you one day to get a scale to weigh yourself - but it takes longer than that to get the recommended scale delivered. Weighing yourself is a third of the daily engagement requirements needed to progress; So every day you go without the scale is a day you fall behind in earning the ‘Noomcoin’ to advance your curriculum. Noom tells you to get people to join the app so you can hold yourself accountable and that feels icky - as if I can’t share my progress without them buying a eight month subscription. So the last day of the trial I go to cancel and find that I was already charged for my next renewal. Noom teaches ‘Pysch Tricks’ for weight loss and they’re clearly using the one trick where if they charge your card early, they’re hoping you won’t dispute it. 😑 Sorry not sorry noom, this is a boundary I don’t let businesses cross. If you charge me the day before you say you’re going to and then gaslight me to thinking that the amount you billed my card is non refundable, then I can’t recommended your product - at all. Also 302 dollars (premium plan) for only 8 months is way out of the price range for me. If the app works for you, great. Just ask to cancel and then tell them it’s too expensive to get a discount of 50% to 65% depending on how you answer their questions. So they can still make a profit at half the price but charge you double just to see if this psych trick will work on you. 🙄

This was so complicated and felt like taking a test. I felt the entire time i was getting scammed. If trying to sell stuff is the intention then it was received. If health and weight loss was the intention im not sure how anyone ever got pass to that part of the program.
  • Extremely expensive, Not good unless you’re overweight

I am a runner and a person that gained some weight lately but still within ideal weight. I was trying to improve my relationship with food but the only thing that happened is that I ended up gaining some weight due to bad recommendations for people relatively fit (I’m not great just average) If you’re fit already I believe this program will hold you down. Be also very careful with the billing. The program just keep billing. I believe this people took from me easily around 1k. Be careful with what you sign in and even paying more it might be worthwhile doing it through Apple. If they do not accept subscriptions through Apple, it means they’re real business is for you to forget that you’re subscribing to a very expensive subscription.

This is my second round with Noom. The first time I spent nearly a year on the program and my targeted weight loss was 30 pounds and I ended up losing 45 pounds. I am attempting to lose 25 pounds, which I hope is my final 25 pounds, and so I have engaged the Noon program once again to help me with this. Noom helps us to change our habits in small increments, day by day, and that is the magic. We develop habits like weighing daily and logging our food. We also get an amazing amount of education around the entire topic of weight loss and eating. This program is highly recommended for those people who are ready to work it. After all, it only works if you work it!
  • Fantastic Program (not for everyone)

I signed up myself and my fiance for Noom Premium in June 2024. For me, it was fantastic! I had never used an app or weight loss program before but this one made sense to me. I ended up losing 30+ lbs in 4 months to get to my healthy weight goal. The app can recommend healthy eating habits, excercise plans, recipes, calorie tracking, mood/stress tracking, real person chat coaching, etc. I can't recommend trying the premium subscription enough! I am extremely satisfied with the program and left it after 4 months with much more self-confidence and pride in the changes I've made to my health! For my fiance, it wasn't the right fit though. She had previous difficulty with eating disorders and body dysmorphia, and the recommendation of daily weigh-ins triggered some healthy thoughts. There's nothing in the app that encourages this behavior (in fact, Noom constantly encourages body positivity throughout the whole process), but it should be noted that you need to be in the right state of mind for the program to work in a healthy way.
  • Idea for development

I wish there was a meal planning tool in the success kit so I could plan what I want to eat (like noom recipes), and then have the ingredients pull into a grocery list for us. Also, if our meal logging could look at our plan and just have us verify what we ate instead of entering in everything, that would be much quicker and super helpful! The app is so great but I’d love to keep my meal plan in there too; meal planning is such a great tool for making healthy choices after a long day because the decision has already been made. This would probably help a lot of people :)

Good in theory but it should be a lot smarter and offer a more personalized experience. Omg please let me copy my meals from day to day! It makes you search for each piece of your meal to log and persistently asks you to add a reminder to log your meals even when I am already consistently doing so. Exasperating to use at times. I am definitely quitting when my pay period is up.

I am a true believer in Noom. Never a calorie counter before, but their comprehensive data base makes it really easy. I’ve been able to change how I eat and have lost 30 lbs this round. Aiming for 20 more. And that’s all on the free program!
  • Synch with Fitbit

Update: 10/14/24 **App Developer: steps do not appear as an option on the Move task card! Fitbit is synched with Noom app but unable to display step count in Noom as there is no Steps option to select when move task card is selected!!!! The app does not synch with Fitbit in real time. So frustrating. Also recording what you eat without being able to create a favorites list is tedious & a waste of time. The app needs streaming to make tracking food faster. The program is good but the app is lacking!
