  • Bring Back Scroll Bar

An older version of the app had a scroll bar so you could see how far through the article one has been.
  • About Luigi Mangione

When the Atlantic talks about Palestine, it titles “Even the oppressed have obligations”. When talking about Luigi, the title is”An astonishing level of dehumanization” 🤣
  • Why make app more difficult to use?

I’ve loved The Atlantic app for so long. You removed saved articles from the navigation and added extra steps to save and view them. Why the added steps? This is a step in the wrong direction. Please go back to how it was. Frustrations like this lead people to consider unsubscribing.
  • Constant technical problems

I have to delete and re-install the app at least once every few months in order to access content. It shouldn’t be this hard to get the app to work correctly.
  • Had to delete and reinstall app

The Atlantic itself is great but every other day the app had me sign up again which did not work. Deleting and reinstalling did but after ten or so times of this hassle I gave up and canceled. Too bad!
  • Removed helpful features

Latest update made it more difficult to save and view saved articles. I don’t need or want audio content; I subscribed to a print journal because I want to read the pieces not listen to them. So prioritizing that at the bottom of the screen instead of the saved articles feature is useless, and makes it more likely that I will read less, or just unsubscribe.
  • Love the Magazine, hate the subscription

The app has logged me out and will not log me back in. I've canceled it now.
  • No pathway to cancellation

They truly do not allow you to cancel your subscription. The number simply hangs up “no agents are available, call back later.” They don’t respond to your numerous emails to their account help account. There’s no way to simply cancel in the app. Prepare to spend an increasingly sizeable sum every year with no escape, even if their content takes an unappealing turn that leaves you wanting out.
  • Ads are brutal.

The ads that pop up in the middle of articles have to go. For a paid subscription, it’s just so disruptive of the wonderful content.
  • Can’t cancel my subscription

When The Atlantic started spouting neocon war propaganda back last October, I canceled my subscription. They continued charging me money and now the “Manage My Subscription” button in-app does nothing but redirect me to the “Discover” page. I can’t delete my account because I can’t manage my subscription. I have emails detailing my subscription cancelation yet they wont stop charging me.
