  • Good Writing. Bad App.

The app has become almost unusable for me. It lags and freezes when loading articles and when scrolling. It also causes my phone to churn, waste battery, and heat up. I suspect it is due to the ads loading. The ads take too long to load and make the screen freeze when scrolling. It gets stuck for 10-15 or more seconds. I like the writing and the variety of articles. I am also a full-paying subscriber for digital access. Hard to justify why I also need to see these ads and have them ruin my reading experience. Lately, I stop reading articles a quarter of the way through, and switch to another news app to read something else. I suggest the developers look at the app performance.

Great journalism but the app freezes almost constantly of late very frustrating.

AI voices are too robotic. Just not the same as someone reading the article to me, naturally.

Researched, thought-through, level-headed, outspoken, and well-written. The Atlantic Magazine is just the best publication, right now.
  • Exceptional and exceptionally funny tour of Paris by Caity Weaver

It made me laugh. Out loud. It brought back memories of Paris and introduced me to Mark Twain’s time there in the most delightful way. Thank you, Atlantic editors, for funding her journey and this wonderful article.

  • After parade is not just a parade

It doesn’t even deserve one star but I wanted to let you know why I’m canceling my subscription. A military parade on his birthday is exactly what it looks like. It’s fascism plain and simple. The man is sending troops to LA to quash what the LAPD have admitted are non violent protests. Our press needs to be standing up to the dictator, not giving him excuses for his unconstitutional actions. I’m flat out disgusted and can no longer support you in good conscience.

From aunt Anne Applebaum and David Frumm and the entire team of experts and thinkers, I find the Atlantic and go to source to help understand chaos of this world.

I’ve always loved the Atlantic, and the digital version is just as good as print. If you want deep insights across the broad spectrum of Americana, you will not be disappointed.

since the update, the app became super slow and the audio function broken and very very slow, and all of my older saved articles are gone!
