I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience in hopes of helping others avoid what I’ve gone through. I genuinely liked the Nike Run Club app. The coach was energetic and encouraging, and I was excited to follow the half-marathon training plan. I stuck to it exactly, including strength training three times a week, and felt like I was making great progress. But during the first scheduled 10-mile run, the plan had me sprint twice at mile 8, deep into the run when I was already tired. The next morning, I woke up with intense foot pain and couldn’t walk. Months later, I still can’t walk normally. I’ve seen several doctors and specialists who believe the injury could be long-term, possibly nerve or connective tissue damage. I still can’t run, and even standing or walking is painful. Since that run, my feet constantly burn and tingle like they’re on fire, and nothing has brought relief so far. From a scientific perspective, this part of the plan is deeply flawed. Sprinting is a high-intensity, anaerobic activity that puts serious strain on the body. Doing it late in a long run, when form and stability are already compromised by fatigue, greatly increases the risk of injury, especially in the lower legs and feet. Long runs are meant to build aerobic endurance, not speed. Combining both in the same session, particularly for runners still building a base, can be risky. That’s why most evidence-based training plans separate long runs from speed workouts. I really did appreciate the coach’s tone and the motivation built into the app. But the structure of this plan caused a life-changing injury. I truly hope Nike reconsiders the design to prioritize safer, smarter training. Please be careful and think twice before following this plan as written.

Coach Bennett is THE BEST. This app and his coaching have helped me become a better version of myself. This is about running and this is also not about running.

Thank you for this app its a great running app. It’s up there with Strava and other fitness apps. I love that its running focused but I would love to see more features like maybe biking and other activities. Love how the plans are free and everything is free. A great app and I would like to see the features that are on guided runs on regular runs like laps where you can pause the run and see that individual intervals stats. Just some feedback but love it as it is.
