  • Quality App, UI suggestion

I love the ESV app as it has not only the Bible but all of the study resources that are readily accessible. The audio quality is much better than other apps used. A few suggestions would be to add more bookmark and highlight colors. 3 is not a lot at all. In addition I would suggest making it easier to change the book I am reading from in the Bible. It is challenging to click that header at the top when it goes away, it’s like I’m playing wackamole and can never catch it lol hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for all you all provide to help us know and study God’s word

Great app but it does not support landscape mode as someone else has mentioned on tablet, also it has very limited font selections and the verses don't highlight when it's being read out via audio. Also switching between the study bible and the verses is somewhat tough, would be good if you could just click the verses and the study material pops up. If it could be used offline as well that would be good too. Overall it's a good app

At this time, Sunday, June 29, 2025 and yesterday, I am unable to hear the readings. My wifi works, I can hear other apps. I’m concerned!
  • Nothing fancy

I’ve used this for years. Well the good news, it’s the Bible. ESV. The bad news, the app is so basic. My biggest annoyance, front size. Doesn’t use system settings. The biggest font is still unreadable to me without glasses. Not at all accessible. That’s a big fail. As other apps advance, this app is dead. Do better.
  • Not Sleeping While Reading?

Why does ESV Bible not have this function? YouVersion has this all its Bible translations.
  • Love the app; bring back old “sticky” NEW-OLD sorting feature

I love the ESV app along with its Bible study notes. This is one of my favorite translations and this app makes me enjoy it all the more. But, bring back the “sticky” sorting of the FAVORITES. Selecting sort by NEW-OLD used to “stick” and would be the setting during the next view of favorites. Now, the default is GEN-REV sorting every time favorites is launched. I have to manually choose NEW-OLD each time now. Bring back the “sticky” filter/sorting. Other than that, the app and its supporting study documentation is top notch.
  • Narrator

You have to pay for a narrator $5 a month. Every company is charging some kind of monthly fee anymore. Ridiculous.
  • I use it all the time

There are so many wonderful things about the ESV Bible app! It’s easy to read and has a wonderful cross reference system. However, there is one thing that would greatly improve the end-user experience: enhance the navigation system so that instead of only selecting a book and a chapter the user can also select the verse. I recommend looking at the system Logos uses for navigating both books and commentaries for comparison. Their system makes navigation more convenient and satisfying. If this app had that feature, I would have given it 5 stars.

    It scrolls the whole bible!
  • Wonderful but text can only go so large … not really considering the physically challenged

I love this app and I love the audio and extra options you can subscribe to so I’m sad to have to cancel my subscription due to a limitation to how large the text can go. The app settings do not really make the text very large nor does the app adjust larger when you assign it in the Accessibility options(iPhone)and increase the text in there. I’ve recently begun to have issues with my eyes that a new prescription won’t really take care of. I’ll look elsewhere … Olive Tree?
