I’ve been paying for the 2TB plan, I had a year of the bigger 3TB plan. Throughout the course of having it over the last several years, I’ve documented two childbirths and have transferred a lot of work related files. In that time the Dropbox app has been subpar and inconsistent on mobile, on PC, and on ARM. There isn’t a version of the Dropbox app I’ve tried that has been acceptable, and they don’t seem to change or update it very often. They take in an obscene amount of money — I know how much I’m paying just by myself for 2TB — but they do not reinvest the income into their equipment or their software. I’m stuck with them because I chose them and have my photos on Dropbox. I’ve contacted them or tried to contact them about issues in the past, and they are a very outdated and obsolete company, relying on aged “forums” (a type of chatting platform they used to use on the older internet) rather than their own knowledgeable support staff.

Things used to be simple. Every version, it takes more taps and clicks to get anything out of the app. No i don’t want to share a link, no I don’t want to edit my files on your mediocre app. You will never be able to match the quality of the dedicated apps. But hey, I get it, that Adobe contract to push it on your users is too sweet to resist. Enjoy your bonuses, will have to drop the dropbox the way things are going. It’s not like there aren’t other options.
  • Please fix this glitch!

I have experienced a glitch with my Dropbox on multiple updates including the one I received today 08/29/24. When I play a video and want to adjust the speed I click the settings wheel and the menu will pop up for like a fraction of a second and vanish. I cannot get into it to click on the speed, set it to loop or anything like that. It’s driving me a little crazy. Can you please fix this on the next update?

I’ve had DB for many years. I don’t use it much. But I like having it.
  • Arrogant support that has never seen iOS app

I sought support for an iOS app issue and they asked for a dozen screenshots from their iOS app, my account and files on multiple windows computers that we all know they just want to make it more trouble than it’s worth to continue. They would never look at the data. They made suggestions involving features in the windows app and not in the iOS app which shows they have never even seen the iOS app let alone know it’s real features. Time to cancel a 20+ year account at almost $300 a year.

This app hasn’t been it FOR YEARS. It was really at the top when it was able to connect to that one app Carousel that doesn’t exist anymore. The functionality of that was so much better. I could easily access my photos and videos on there. It had different ways it sorted my photos. It showed me flashbacks. It was such a cool time. I mean, sure… Dropbox saves my photos and documents and that’s awesome. That’s the BARE MINIMUM. What is the point if I can’t even access my photos anymore? The app will lag so much that it’ll show itself out by exiting before the photos on the page even load. Oh, maybe my app isn’t updated? Nope, it is. Oh, maybe I have too much memory on my phone and that’s why? NOPE. I got a phone with 1 TB in 2022, and I’m not even halfway through my usage. Oh, maybe the memory is close to being full on Dropbox? NOPE. I pay EXTRA for 1 TB on here as well. YOU CAN’T EVEN SCROLL THROUGH PHOTOS AND VIDEOS, let alone have the capability to SEARCH THROUGH YOUR PHOTOS as you can on my iPhone. I don’t understand how the prices continue to increase, but this app struggles so much to load my photos and videos that I can’t organize them if I wanted to. I legit have to go log on the internet if I even want to have a shot at taking a stroll down memory lane. Heck, I used to have starred photos so that I could at least look back at a few of them before the app exited out, but apparently I just went on it and it says I have ZERO STARRED PHOTOS. Honestly, that was my last straw. What more can you take from me? I just pay you to store and hide my photos and videos away from me forever? I’ve been a loyal customer since 2013. FOR 11 YEARS. And I got this cloud service because I used to back them up on my laptop and my phone broke before I could upload the last of them. At this point, I should either think of switching to a new cloud service or just start printing out my photos and sending my videos on a flash drive. At least I could look back at my memories. I just haven’t done it yet because I’m unfortunately loyal to such a fault that I stupidly stay way longer than I should because I am too hopeful that things will get better. Seriously, you get paid monthly fees just to upload all my photos and videos into the void and it’s been 11 years and the prices keep increasing, but where does the money go?? You think we just want to store things and never look at them? Idk maybe use the money responsibly to make the app as functional as the website version? Add things like better search functions. Organize the photos and videos into chronological albums. Maybe that wouldn’t make your apps crash when people have 11 years worth of photos and videos and the page doesn’t even allow for you to scroll past 2020 and then the search engine is finicky too. Pick a struggle. It’s been the same ones for way too long. Pick a struggle and learn how to fix it. I would’ve been cool to stay loyal for more than 11 years, but I’m so tired of not being able to access MY PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. What’s the point of a mobile app if I have to go onto the internet anyway? I might as well store them the old way again OR find a new cloud service that actually has a better and FUNCTIONING app.
