  • unsubscribing due to chatgpt

I’m purely just disappointed in the integration of a “BirdGPT”(it’s just chatGPT actually there is 0% to do with birds) link to the app. It’s completely inappropriate and unnecessary. Someone look up the ecological impact of AI use and explain to me why this decision was reached…
  • Worthless offline

App is unfortunately completely unreliable when offline. On multiple occasions, I have opened the app, and it will tell me to go online to "restore purchases." When I'm hiking in the mountains without cell phone service, this renders the app useless. I've been a paid user and subscriber for over a decade, but can no longer recommend this app.
  • What happened to iBird and Photo Sleuth?

My PhotoSleuth used to link with my bird Pro until an update. I’ve communicated with iBird technical assistance and they seem to be able to do nothing about fixing the link failure. Both apps work fine individually. I’m not sure I will renew my subscriptions.
  • My Go-To Birding App

This app is always my first choice for identifying birds or finding detailed information. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on an excellent resource. Highly recommended! My favorite is playing the slide show with sounds, such a great way to learn the bird sounds.
  • Lightweight and Functional

Much easier to use compared to lugging around a bird guide. I love the option to filter results by body type and head pattern. The app might be a bit fiddly if you're new to navigating databases, but overall, it works great. I especially appreciate the bird songs and the ability to quickly pull up photos. I use it every day, particularly in the spring when warblers and other migratory birds arrive.
  • Money Scam Subscription

I bought this app outright years ago so I could have access to a good app and not have to pay fees. They decided to change to a subscription service and I lost the right to owning the app. Utter scam. I’ll just use Google then. Never buying an app again I don’t think… or at least unless I really need it. No thanks. Basically stole my money.

    iBird Proはメモや写真を貼り付けられるので、とても便利なアプリです。希望としては、撮影した鳥にマークを付けたり、鳥の名前の色を変えられる機能があればもっといいと思います。

This app is phenomenal! It offers far more information than any printed bird guide, and when you consider the price, it’s an absolute steal. The search tools and bird call recordings are features you’d never get with a book. Plus, the convenience of carrying this app around instead of lugging a heavy guide like the Sibley Guide is unbeatable. Yes, there are a few bugs, but they’re minor and don’t detract from its overall value. I give it 4 stars only because of those bugs.

This app is my favorite app for bird identification and for learning bird songs. I rely on it all the time—it's indispensable!

This app belongs in a future App Hall of Fame! The Percevia search feature is great, and the song identification tool is incredibly helpful. As someone who’s still learning to recognize bird songs, I find it to be a fantastic resource. Only wish they had some way to lower the complexity of the search for beginners; its got 30+ things to ssearch on. Totally worth the price!
