  • No adjustment for handicapped

There’s no adjustment for handicapped. If I eat that many calories, I will definitely gain weight because I am mostly in a wheelchair. Having to pay to adjust the calorie amount is sad for handicap people. We should be able to try the free version like everyone else.
  • Better than MyFitnessPal

Only thing I wish it had was a section for vitamins/supplements. Other than that it’s perfect.
  • Thank you!

Thank you for having the option to use a free version for people who want to use the minimum features when they can’t afford a monthly/yearly fee. The app itself is beautifully designed and easy to use. Exactly what I was looking for.

The premium subscription was accidentally purchased and canceled it immediately. Unfortunately, I was denied a refund. I believe consumer trust should be a priority. I’m very disappointed with this experience. Update: no help from developer or Apple.

I love that the app lets you focus on different goals and that you can turn off weight tracking. However, a lot of the items in the database are incorrect including LifeSum verified items. This will not allow you to just update them within your own tracking without approval. I love AlaniNu products but it will not allow me to save the correct nutrition info for the energy drinks. I really want to love this app, but the more I use it, the more frustrating the inaccuracies become.
  • Constructive criticism notes

So far this app has been fantastic, but while I see a little programming for alcohol consumption, I don’t think I’ve seen anything for nicotine consumption, in any way, shape, or form. Given the effects that nicotine can have on dietary health, I wonder if the broad spectrum of nicotine products, and their varied effects on the human body would be too much for this app to handle? If not, might I suggest that a nicotine consumption and more dynamic alcohol consumption section be added?

I’m Thirteen years old and play football. I hate how fat I am at 150. I want to lose 30 pounds. And I am already losing weight at the 2nd full day of using it. It is a bit annoying that the premium version pops up when you want to look at the recipe. The app has got me to exercise more. You have to be honest on what you are eating though. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants something easy to use.

Food and exercise trackers are everywhere and this one works as well as any. What I wish Lifesum and others would do is also track calories burned doing basic life stuff like running around shopping for groceries, doing yard work, and other non-“exercise” stuff which also burn calories. Not to mention allowing for the calories that your body burns just being alive and running things like your brain and heart. Those things are legit too but too many trackers pretend they don’t exist and aren’t relevant. My rating would go up to a full five stars if Lifesum were to go those extra miles to ensure we have a chance to capture all calories burned, not just some.
  • Functionality seems good; problems with free v paid

Seems to have the functionality I want. Free version has ads that lock up the entire app and cause you to have to restart it. If you want to pay, there’s no way to do it monthly, you have to pay in larger chunks of time. If you could go month-to-month I’d give it a try.
  • Doesn’t work unless you have internet

The app constantly needs connection and would not work at all when it’s offline (just sits there spinning). It’s beautiful and easy to use, but this is a showstopper for me as I cannot enter food items unless I am online
