Very dishonest. Wonder why there’s no price? It’s because you are not downloading and installing an audio tour of Williamsburg. It’s merely a tour selection app. When you open it you have to select which city you want a tour for and pay $7 to get it. I’d rather put that $7 towards a ticket that will help to support the operation of the place. You may be able to get discounted tickets from one of those attraction/tour vendors around town.

Total waste of $6.99. Tour would not start unless my location was at the visitor center. Useless if not initiated before entering the actual site.
  • Literally saved $135

We found enormous value in this tour. It allowed us to walk around the town and learn about the significance of different spots without having to buy the town’s ticket that gets pushed on you at every turn (which is extremely expensive for a group of 3 like ours). I LOVED the flexibility this tour allowed. We actually only saw a portion of Colonial Williamsburg on the first day, and finished up the tour when we passed through again at the end of our trip.

We did not buy the tickets at the visitor center since they cost $45 per person! We used the App instead and we followed the recommended route on the App. We were not able to go inside some of the buildings that are owned by the visitor center but we got info about all of them from the App. The “period” dressed folks scattered around were happy to talk and answer our questions also. Did not need a ticket to do that! I am glad we chose to skip the tickets and used the App. It was a lot cheaper and we still got to absorb the atmosphere of the colonial city.

Hardly used. Better to speak with people in role, take the tours, and whatnot. I suppose if you’re by yourself and plugged into head phones, and wanted to stare at your device. I’m also not sure that it’s accurate. For example, app says that Mr. Wythe was an abolitionist while it was clear that he owned slaves (according to the grounds and CW staff). $7 loss, don’t let it be your loss either.
