This feature highlights objects in the sky chart and indicates with a number how many users are observing a particular object. + SkyCast - allows you to guide a friend or group around the night sky through their own copy of SkySafari. After initiating SkyCast, you can generate a link and conveniently share it with other SkySafari users via text message, apps or social media accounts. + Sky Tonight - jump to the new Tonight section to see what’s visible in your sky tonight. Expanded information has been designed to help plan your night and includes Moon & Sun info, calendar curations, events and the best positioned deep sky and solar system objects. + Improved Observation Tools - SkySafari is the perfect tool to help you plan, record and organize your observations. I’ve had version 5 for years. Always seemed disorganized. Finally decided to upgrade because no matter how I tried to look for the comet tsuchinshan-atlas in the database, it wouldn’t show up. Still doesn’t show up in the new version. It’s not listed anywhere and you can’t search for it with any version of its name. Needs some work for sure.

On 7.5.0 the app crashes when using the Tonight button.

Could they color code the objects highlighted in my observing list list by object type? Or at the very least make the color different than the meridian line and zenith/altitude lables? very much an eye sore

Does everything you could ask for in an astronomy app including telescope control and eyepiece previews. It's also beautiful.
  • Star gazing app

With one of these star gazing apps, in 2024 a person can look into the night sky and exactly what they are looking at. This app makes exploring the night sky a neat experience for the kids.

Would not recommend this app. After years of having the SkySafari Pro, and it’s constant prompts for me to upgrade, I finally decided to upgrade to the sky safari plus. I spent two hours trying to enter my preferences in my information into the settings, I prompted into settings to show planets and it did. Now they’re gone even though the setting still indicates that they’re showing. It took the better part of an hour to try to figure out how to get the time to be correct to my current time. I finally found the setting that it thought I was for some reason in England. Once I got that changed, it finally set it up to my local time. But the sky did not adjust. I was sitting there, looking at Orion about 30° above the horizon, but the app was showing me it was about 10° below the horizon. All of the planets have disappeared from the view. And I turned off the marketing settings and yet every time I open the app it’s trying to get me to upgrade to the premium version. Do not recommend this app and if things don’t get better, I’m possibly going to delete it.

I have had to “repurchase” it a couple of times after installing an iPad update. They should at least offer a much reduced price.
