All I needed was a plain text editor. I have thousands of files from when I was writing songs regularly and keeping other types of notes in plain text inside a UNIX environment. I don’t live in that environment anymore, but I still have all of these plain text files that I need to maintain in periodically update. Long comes your app! Runestone is perfect for what I need to do! Sometimes, less is better. Other times less is best!

On macOS, I use Pulsar for Markdown docs and Nova for code. I was looking for a single iPad app that could handle all of my text editing, and Runestone feels like the one. Runestone strikes that ideal balance between being both straightforward and full of features. Very excited to have discovered it, thank you! Two feature requests: 1. Indent wrapped lines → I use Markdown docs for outlining, which means lots of lists and indents. When Runestone wraps lines, the wrapped lines don’t match the indent of that item, which can be tricky for me to read. 2. Assigning themes to Languages → I’d love to swap themes automatically based on the doc (I’d choose different themes for Markdown and code).

I am blind and use the VoiceOver screen reader to navigate my iPhone or iPad. For my iPad, I use a keyboard case. In other places where I can edit text, I can use the arrow keys to move around the edit box. I can use option left or right arrow to move by word. I can add the shift key to select text. I can use Command left or right arrow to go to the beginning or end of a line, and command up or down arrow to go to the top or bottom of a document. Can these keyboard commands be added to Runestone? If Runestone already has these commands, can this be made to work with VoiceOver? If this is added, I will purchase the premium version.

i used iSSH v1. to date my iPhone app usage. sure wish there was a text editor then like this one. now i'm re-learning everything i used to do at a computer, i can do on my phone/computer/camera/.... great tool. but there are some things i miss about the old days of notepad++. 😛

this app was literally a life saver, i was struggling to find an app that would work best for me. i was having trouble at first but i finally worked it out! only app i will ever be giving 5 stars :)
