Description

In contrast to Screen Time, one sec delays access to apps and websites instead of blocking them completely – this is fundamentally different than any other screen time tool you’ve tried before! Have you tried a digital detox? And it did not work, because you fall back into your habits immediately?  Well here is the solution: one sec solves our unhealthy phone relationship at its roots: by making distracting apps less appealing, our brains lose interest to open them all the time without proper intention. The effectiveness of one sec has been confirmed in a peer-reviewed scientific study with the Max-Planck Institute and Heidelberg University: app usage drops by 57% on average! Long-term! Fight the social media algorithms and win back control over your phone usage & your subconsciousness! “one sec” uses Shortcuts Automation to toggle a deep breath animation whenever you open one of the configured apps (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube…). This breaks unconcious social media habits short-term (literally, as soon as you have set it up) and even helps long-term by adding more friction when opening these apps. Did you really want to open Instagram? Or was it just because you're bored waiting for your bus? This app helps you to reflect your actions, thoughts, and feelings; disrupting harmful social media habits with mindfulness. On top of that, “one sec” also contributes your mindful moments to the Health App via HealthKit. Especially for people with ADHD one sec is a great tool to gain back control for incredible focus and concentration. Integrations and collabs: - You can set up one sec to sync tasks with Structured, so you won't be able to access social media apps during ongoing unfinished tasks. - You can set up one sec to learn a new language with LENGO, so every time you open social media, you have to answer a handful of vocabularies. Available Subscription Options: one sec pro (annual / monthly / lifetime unlock) Terms (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://one-sec.app/privacy/

Please buy this! I’ve had One Sec for almost a year now, and it’s done exactly what I hoped. I am no longer the sorry result of human habit—mindlessly opening Instagram, scrolling, and wasting my precious life! I don’t usually write reviews, but THANK GOD for this!

This app has done a tremendous job helping me curb my phone addiction. The features are fun and it has great alternatives, but I am mostly impressed with its simplicity and ease of use. The instructions to setup are straightforward. Then, once it’s up and running, it helps me not spend too much time on my phone through prompts ahead of opening social media and through simple interruptions so I don’t spend too much time doing something without thinking. A 10/10 app.

I really love the concept of this app, but when I subscribed, I did not get the features promise. If I switch out of Tiktok for less than a minute to look up something or answer a text, then I have to sit to the prompt to get me back in even though I said it to give me a three minute break. I tried adjusting multiple settings, but I keep running into a problem when I try to save something I saw too my book list or make a note and it became too annoying.
  • Great app to break out of doomscrolling and help improve mental health!

I’ve used the pro version for two years, and it’s been a game changer. Being able to use one sec across different apps makes me become more mindful of my intentions of using the apps. Having some gentle reminders set up on the intervention screen (e.g., take a breath, stretch, drink some water) has also complemented what I learned from cognitive behavioral therapy. 100% would recommend trying one sec out!

They all start with the promise of free. Then they get big and start hiding formerly free features behind a pay screen. Why can’t I customize the intervention like I could in the past. Dev has added too many features that make the app unusable. Keep it simple. This app had a lot of potential but I can see it going down the drain like all the productivity apps before it.

At first, I used to have arroun 8 to 9 hours a day, maybe 6 of those hours, were mindles scrolling, so I decided to do something, look for apps that can make my screen time lower, and I found One Sec, at first, I didn’t have faith it was going to work, but the next day, from having 8 to 9 hours, I only have 4 hours, I know that’s still a lot, but my habit of mindles scrolling was gone! I really recommend this app to the person reading this, it gives you 1 month for free so, try it out!
