Been subscribing to Quark via the Mac App Store for a few years now. No problems. A few weeks ago, suddenly Quark stopped working for me. Wouldn't launch on ANY of my macs. Nothing worked. I contacted Quark's suppport team was told that they could NOT help me since I wsa subscribing to the program via the App store. They wouldn't even begin to help me or offer me any fixes. So I contacted support through the App Store. No answer. Nothing. zip. I was in the middle of a deadline and the software company that publishes Quark was telling me it was the App Store's problem and the App store wasn't responding. Why would they? It's not THEIR software. So I missed my deadlie while I scrambled. I had to download Affinity and learn to use it on the quick to finish my project.
  • Files Locked

Unable to save any files coz it says it's locked eventhough I've already added all working folders. Been a long time QuarkXpress user since early 2000's and this switch to subscription based software that doesn't work is annoying and frustrating. Should have switched to InDesign.
  • Files "locked" soon after saving them

For some reason the quark files I have created all say that they are "locked" and do not open a day or so after working on them. I can't find any explanation for this.

No longer a wonderfully intuitive program. Next to impossible to navigate. The old Quark was a true gem. Customer service is avoidant...

I've used QuarkXpress since Version 1.0. (Telling my age here.) I also have Adobe Creative Cloud with InDesign which I will use if forced to do so for a specific client. But, given a choice, I'll produce my work in QuarkXpress. I know there are lots of Quark haters but for me it's still the go-to for ease of use and versatility.

I used Quark almost 30 years ago…I wish they would set up individual pallets like Indeisgn does…a separte pallet for character, a separate pallet for paragraph..etc. it would be nice if that aspect could be customizable like indiesgn
