…and no engagement amongst folks on the app. It’s like screaming into nothing most of the time. I miss the OG Lex.

  • Only 3 posts and run by bigots

This is a wannabe Twitter and they limit you to 3 posts per month but the best part is that half the people are bots and the other half are half are bigots. I've been treated like garbage and disrespected and had my boundaries violated and even had people go on unsolicited attacks on me and they did nothing. Actually they banned me rather than the two people attacking me after one of them said they wanted to bury their face in my breasts (they used a different term) and I said that was disrespectful. This company doesn't care about your privacy nor your safety so steer clear of this at all cost. I'm going to be filing complaints with Apple to get this app taken down in order to protect people. PS, Their support NEVER responds.

This app is so toxic where i live. Its used to bait, bully and trap people into a never ending circle of what is politically correct. Im sorry but other queer folx arent the reason for systemic problems and shouldnt be subjected to being berated and bullied into submission by other obviously mentally ill users of this app. This app is useless venting for a few asinine useless members of our community

Not the developer’s fault, but the overall environment (the crowd it attracts) seems hostile to gay and bi men. Would not recommend.

i initially downloaded the app after following the Lex Instagram account where i was excited by the idea of an homage to and continuation of Lesbian and Sapphic history in the form of personal ads. i found the simple text-only based design a breath of fresh air among the offerings of other dating apps out there, but everything gradually started to change in ways that left me feeling like i was no longer the target audience for the app. although i didn’t like the extreme color theme change, i understood the usefulness of dynamic updates and constant improvement and so stuck around. but with that change, both before and after, a number of other features - such as commenting, groups, and reactions - came a feeling of a completely different app. instead of maintaining the original uniqueness, it seemed to conform to many other forms of social media out there. and there in was a big disappointment for me - the social media aspect, including ad space on the home page. in addition to that, the extreme and obvious veering away from being a Lesbian and Sapphic-centered space to a more general Queer+ space should seem like a positive improvement but instead seemed to open the gates for a deluge of cis men and sex-repulsed a-specs who make posts slutshaming people for seeking sex on a dating app… there are a number of other issues having to do with constant post barrages of requests for mutual aid and ticket-selling scams, but to sum up: - positives: encouraging inclusivity, facilitating community building - negatives: rampant and unchecked scammers, disappointing lack of diversity, social media features that lead to off-topic posts not related to dating/sex/hookups, over-emphasis on finding friends to the point of erasing the sexuality of users, unsafe space for POC, no lesbian or bi flag heart reaction i do want to say that it has the potential to be a cool LGBTQ2IA+ community space app with continued improvements, but it is not a dating app for Lesbians or Sapphics as it once claimed to be, and to have that changed all around you as you’re using the app is a bewildering and sad experience.

I joined Lex in 2019, very early on. I enjoyed the early internet UI that was easy to use, and the lesbian personals this app was based on. As new features added on, the app had consistent bugs that increased along the way. I tolerated these for a long time because they were relatively minor, and I found and made true friends there. I was on the app every day talking to new people, and appreciated being able to talk to other queer people (mostly) worldwide. The app was consistently shoddy, but I cared about making friends more. Post-rebranding and sanitization, it lost much of its allure for me, but I also put this aside. In the last year, there has been a MASSIVE influx of bots trained by AI to mimic Lex user speech. They use photos of real people, usually for the purpose of scamming user’s money for tickets, items, illegal activities, sugaring, or under the guise of “mutual aid”, which Lex’s userbase is VERY susceptible to. I am in a major city with a big Lex user population, and a lot of the time, the feed was full of bot posts. It raised a major concern for me over the security of this app, as they have no feature to prevent bots from making accounts. Lex is usually swift to take action against bigoted trolls, which is good. They do a good job of prioritizing anti trans/homophobia and delete such posts/users quickly. They have not done anything about the bots, which is still a major security concern. People get scammed every day, and the bots only get better at mimicking real Lex users. I stopped using Lex only because my account was deleted 2 months ago. I wasn’t sure why, and support hasn’t responded to my email since. Their support is an automated message, mentioning their (former?) “small team”. Now that it’s been acquired by TikTok’s CEO, I feel even less inclined to come back. I deeply miss the friends I met there and had no other way to contact, but even if my account is re-instated, I don’t know how I feel using the app. This app is great at combatting LGBTphobia, and it was a good concept. I don’t feel Lex cares about their users enough to actually implement security measures past content moderation. I’ve been alienated from my friends, and don’t know if I can, or will come back.

Sign up is long, requires cell phone & photo, and then the latest post in my area was 60 days old. Interface is very confusing and nonstandard. Not sure what this app is supposwd fo be.
