I remember the app when it first came out and had a community feature, literally awesome you had open chat, now everything costs money to use

I feel like I already left a review for this app before but I’ll leave another. This is probably the worst dating app I’ve ever used and I currently use 9 apps. You can’t even message anyone without paying. I will be deleting my account after today.

I never write reviews, but I had to cause this app will literally force you to send message to your likes for engagement, it’s gross. It’s always this, “hi ☺️” I’ve been sent it before and I’ve unwittingly sent that before I could tho k of a worthy move. Secondly, as an attractive guy they won’t let you match with girls in your league unless you pay for premium because they get slotted into high value states. It’s a messed up psychological game to these ppl.

I’ve been using Taimi on and off for a couple of years now. Like a lot of people, I first discovered the app through Snapchat ads. I was excited at the idea of a queer friendly dating space where I could possibly meet someone new, so I dove right in. A few years ago, it wasn’t great, but it was usable. Changes have progressively been integrated as the years have gone by which I feel have absolutely ruined the experience. Premium doesn’t get you unlimited swipes, the block feature doesn’t work properly, as I’ve been contacted by people I’ve blocked before. They give you an introductory period where your likes are visible now, but they have a very interesting algorithm that locks the most “conventionally attractive” users behind paywalls. I.e. white AFABs. There are also copious amounts of people on the app who reach out to ask for money and stuff, standard fare poorly regulated dating app stuff. Unfortunately dating apps are all bad anymore. Taimi is just another example of that. Edit: Hey there Taimi staff 👋🏻 I appreciate the response, but I don’t actually have any desire to reach out outside of a publicly visible forum to discuss the shortcomings of this app. I said what I said. I have blocked people preemptively who I knew from previous times using the app and shockingly enough, perhaps because they paid for premium, they were able to see me as a visitor and bypass the block system to contact me, is my best guess. So that’s disappointing. Anyway, as an additional bit of information to add, I will say I have paid for the premium version of this app several times in the past. I used to see the value in it, but not anymore. Unlimited swipes are the only thing that really matters if you’re going to be paying roughly $20 a week for a dating app. “But this way it keeps you from doomscrolling!” Yeah so actually- The way this app recycles profiles is WILD. I should not be seeing people I’ve already swiped left on so often that I can RECOGNIZE them now. If I’m not interested and I swipe left, that should be it. Unless they like me for any reason, why would they be thrown back in the rotation? And for that matter, why are there so many conveniently “suspended” profiles now that count against my daily swipes? That didn’t used to be a problem. Lots of profiles that don’t have any photos or information either, and they also count against my daily swipes. So between suspended users, empty accounts, and recycled users that I have already swiped left on, half if not more of my daily swipes are consumed by that, which I will not call a design flaw, because we know the design is working as intended. Dating apps are revenue centers, there’s no longevity in easily facilitating contact between compatible people. That’s why there are more hook-up apps on the market than anything anymore. Taimi used to be one of the good ones, as good as it could get, anyway. Oh well. Live long enough to see yourself become the villain, I guess.

This app is so sub par. They charge for everything. You don’t have freedom to do anything on this app without being asked to pay for it.. can’t see likes, no unlimited swipes, can’t send unlimited messages even though you have messages left to send. Horrible. This app needs to loosen the grip a bit.

The app has a bunch of people that match your preferences but you can’t match with, or even LIKE them without spending money. This obviously causes a ton of problems because it’s now just showing you random people that it knows you aren’t interested in. This results in hardly any matches making the app a waste of time and, if you payed for any of their “three tiers,” a waste of money.
