Setup was fast and easy. It looks like the data coming from weather station is accurate too. The app could use some refinement, such as a more color options. The purple background in the app and widget is ugly. Please change or offer choices. I will review the app and weather station again in a few weeks after I have some time to explore a bit.
  • Wonderful app and device

Love them both!! I knocked one star off because it doesn’t have a radar map. Would be the perfect addition so I can ditch my other weather app completely!! Tempest - Please seriously consider adding the radar map and air quality reading to this app.

I feel the app is a little confusing and the lack of a radar map in the app is very disappointing. Not sure the station is worth the overall price.
  • Dissatisfied with the App

The application is missing key features and has sloppy interface issues. First there is no written forecast. All the good weather apps give at least a sentence predicting the weather for a period of a day. Second there is no storm map. If im not getting a written prediction at least give me a visual representation of the tracks of incoming storms. Lastly the app feels poor thought out. For example, I have been recently dealing with bad flooding in Philadelphia. The NWS has published very good warnings including when a river near me will crest and at how many feet high. The warning said the crest will be in 5 hours. Ok fine, so I look for the time that the warning was published and the first part of the warning including the time of publication is cut off. I jumped over the the Weather Underground app and the full warning was there including the header with time of publication. Really sloppy omission. Even navigating the app feels like the designers didn’t use it. I can navigate other apps with a few vertical sweeps of my thumb. Tempest app has alot of horizontal and vertical fidgety organization. Also since the devices haptic rain sensor is unreliable, the tempest crowd sources rainfall measurements . That fine, but provide more granular information on how you are doing that. How much rain has my device registered? How much rainfall in the region? How are you calculating correction? Also wind sampling seems slow. I experience huge wind gusts and nothing shows up on the app. Is that missed by the device or the app? Can you speed up sampling? Especially during a storm? Also is there any snow detection at all? There is alot of room for improvement. I like the hardware its discrete and has no moving parts, but the app is way behind.
  • Rain gauge

I paid a lot of money on this weather system, and I haven’t had it for 9 months yet and the rain gauge isn’t reporting. Before you go and say it’s my connection! Everything is working properly on my end! Such a disappointment!
  • Revision Doesn’t Work

I’ve had a Tempest for in excess of 6 years. Was very happy until recently. Whatever someone did on some revision the App itself doesn’t work. I can get the first page but can’t get the second page.

It seems that the last update has broken parts of the app. Widgets are no longer working.

The App Store images show widgets. There are no widgets with this app.

Love the new update! Will it still show weather alerts when set to standard? And the wind speed arrow doesn’t move or match the wind direction! Thanks
  • Great weather station & great service!

After about a year of reliable weather reporting , my Tempest weather station failed. It was replaced immediately and w/o question by the helpful folks at WeatherFlow. It occupies a prominent place on the home screens of my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. I use it every day and it requires no maintenance. It also feeds rain data to my Rachio lawn sprinkler controller for efficient, localized system control.
