    This my first Garmin and I’m loving it , I’m very excited , the screen is is everything I look for I can see it with out having to lane forward to see the chart i’m looking forward to buying a 10 inch. I have a 9 inch echo map 93 SV touchscreen on my consul. I had other brand, but I wouldn’t satisfy. I am truly satisfied with this.

    I love the Garmin App. It’s easy to update both of my units and Livescope. Love the ability to see my spots marked when not fishing in my boat. Garmin has excellent customer service and the best forward facing technology in the business no questions about it

    I’ve been trying to do a simple sync in order to get the maps on my GPS unit to update (these are maps I’ve paid Garmin for!). I have spent no less than 4 hours on this. Either the app or the GPS unit itself have given me error after error after error. I have successfully completed 2 x software updates, but still my newly paid-for maps will NOT work on my GPS. It will not allow me to load them. Everything keeps telling me “if the error persists, just go to Garmins support page”, which is completely unhelpful. We live in 2025 Garmin…..not 2007. Get your software fixed! My kids free software at school works 1000% better than this. Pure frustration. Terrible customer experience. Would not recommend ever

    Been in the industry for 4 years, installed 100s of chartplotters. I WILL NEVER BUY A GARMIN UNIT FOR MY OWN PERSONAL USE OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE BECAUSE OF THIS APP. DELETE THIS APP, SCRAP EVERYTHING FROM THIS APP, DUMP IT INTO THE DEEPEST HOLE YOU CAN FIND, AND SET IT ON FIRE. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.

    I use this quite a bit to scout out some new areas in marsh areas in South Louisiana to fish. The mapping is very outdated quite often like 10-12 Years. Some areas I fish the water is 6-7 ft. Deep sometimes more & Active Captain App shows land. I tend to use Google Earth Maps bc they are updated. I would expect a lot better from Garmin as a leader in products & technology.
