The food was good, but the delivery service itself was very poor
  • Lacking common features

Either business don’t want these features to be dishonest or they are just not a good app. No ability to sort items and reviews by rating.
  • Needs serious improvement

This review is purely based on the app experience. I am satisifed with the food. Pros: I like the ability to have separate profiles for family members with own dietary preferences/restrictions Like being able to heart favorite foods and save chefs. Cons: Not the most user friendly. Navigation is glitchy and when clearing a cart to add new meals, they still show as selected in the menu causing great confusion. I hate hate HATE that they prefill your cart for you near the deadline!!! They claim it’s based off your choices but we frequently get dishes that have things I’m allergic to! Despite preferences stating foods to avoid! I hate hate HATE that you can’t just clear a cart and save an empty cart after they’ve prefilled it!! We’ve been adding 1 dish of 6 after one if us picks our meals for the week since we aren’t able to pick at the same time and it won’t let you save an empty cart. Ridiculous! That “what’s new” collection that’s supposedly “updated weekly” isn’t actually updated weekly. I’ve seen the same things over and over despite seeing new dishes in the general menu. It’s useless. Other Suggestions: Since there are separate profiles, I wish the “what you’ve tried” tab could be assigned to each profile so we remember who got what. Overall, I’ve seen better interfaces. App is clunky visually and mechanically. They need to do better with the app.

The food and service is great and I have been using it rather happily for over a year, but the app itself is pretty miserable to use. - It regularly bugs out and does not load the week's menus at all, as it has been doing for a few hours today. - When they auto-fill your cart at the end of the week, for some reason it seems to always select meals that I've only ordered once or twice (and then given mediocre ratings too) instead of auto-selecting meals that I consistently order every week and have given 5-stars. Really frustrating when I forget or am too busy to deal with the (bad) app some weeks. - The cart quantity when browsing the menu becomes desynchronised with actual items in the cart. So when you empty the bad auto-selections from the cart and return to the menu to pick new ones, it shows all of the original selections as still being in the cart until you individually remove them. - It's just really slow. Tapping on literally anything takes multiple seconds to load or show a change. Occasionally it gets stuck loading and I have to close the app entirely. The website ordering experience is a little better so I'd just use that.
  • Slow and cumbersome

The meals are great, but the app is not. No app on my phone takes longer to open than Cook Unity. Sometimes I wait 20 seconds or more for anything to appear. Meanwhile I can stream 4k video to my phone with no issue, so the problem certainly is not my data connection. When it comes time to review meals I’ve eaten, I have to navigate so deep within the app that it feels like I’m a mile underground. Reviewing meals is probably the most difficult action to perform using the Cook Unity app. I sure hope the speed of opening the app and the ease with which meals can be rated is improved in the future.

I love cookunity! The meal are great and I’m very pleased with the service! But someone please give the app some love!!It keeps crashing, and I’ve been having to use my laptop to order meals and would love to have the convenience of being able to do so when I am needing to do it last minute and don’t have access to my computer, thank you for reading of you did I hope you have a great day!

We have received these meals for 2 months. We’re very impressed with the sturdy and careful packing. The food tastes fair. It is too many boxes of food each week. We split one meal. We’re eating the meals five days after their EAT DATE. Too much food for us. We want to cancel our subscription today. 2/27/2024. Thank you.
