    As an uptight type A, I was skeptical but after reading Dan Harris’ book, I took the out of character leap of faith. I’ve found that the layout of courses with introductory videos, talks and guided meditations has given me a great start to my beginning practice. The pragmatism of the app and mindfulness teaching makes it so applicable for any novice to start a meditation practice and see instant benefits. For the cost of less than a stick of gum a day, I’ve received so much benefit.

    5 Star. Still deciding on new format. Really like the short talks and the ability to ask coach questions. All the teachers are pros. A little expensive but didn’t hesitate to renew.

    After just 2 weeks I’m off all sleeping meds. If I get up to use the restroom at 2am I just do it again and fall asleep. Not sure I ever learned to do this as an adult. The only problem is if I try to do another meditation like mindful eating......I fall asleep. No more Benadryl or Tylenol pm or melatonin hang over. I bought the full 1 year subscription because it was so useful for me. These folks are doing good work! I’m an adult neurologist and recommend it to my patients almost daily. Highly recommended. No drug side effects with this.

    I have been using this app for about a year and a half now. The recent update has brought that to a screeching halt. The new “visual update” is blinding even with my phone on the lowest setting. Yes, the “sleep” part is dark but you have to get there first. And, now the app pauses when my screen times out. If I’m trying to fall asleep I don’t want my phone lighting up the room. Nor do I want bright light first thing in the morning. Also, I was using Siri shortcuts to wake up & fall asleep. Can’t do that anymore. I sent requests to support but until these issues are fixed, I won’t be renewing my subscription. Two stars for phenomenal content, minus 3 for usability.

    Add a search box! I like the app and the content but I spend almost as much time looking for a meditation as I do listening. The app is all browse and they’re constantly adding content (which is great), but it's a dog's breakfast in there. Need a better way to find meditations...
  • I don’t find this relaxing or helpful at all

    I’m sorry to say it and I’m not entirely sure exactly what it is about it, but I hate this app. I appreciate what it’s trying to do, but it stresses me out more than it helps. Before I begin, let me say that while I’ve struggled with it in the past, I’m not at all “closed off” to the idea of meditation, so this isn’t me just being stubborn... I mostly downloaded 10% to help me unwind before bed, but I don’t find the nighttime meditations helpful at all. The other meditations are okay, but nothing mind-blowing. Most of them just sound like someone reading off of a very generic script, which is fine if you find that soothing, but for me I just feel like I’m wasting my time. I’m don’t really know what I was expecting, but this isn’t it. I guess I was thinking that with the price being so high that it would be very unique and transformative in some way, but I just don’t think there’s anything abundantly special being captured here. What actually brought me here to write this review was lying down and trying to play a sleep meditation a few minutes ago (figured I’d try the app again after not using it for several months), but none of them would play more than 15 seconds before a loading screen would appear and just hang—NOT what I’d call a relaxing experience. I finally got one to play after closing and reopening the app, but I was so frustrated at that point and so dissatisfied with the content that I attempted to go to my settings to cancel my subscription, but when I clicked, it took me several times to get the link to go to iTunes, and all it said when I got there was that I “have no subscriptions.” To be fair, that last part is likely a fault on the part of Apple rather than 10%, but it’s still just another irritation that the connection in their app settings doesn’t work like it should. If you try this app, I sincerely hope it works for you, and I’m really glad to hear that it has helped so many people. Unfortunately for me, I just wasn’t one of them.
