I appreciate this app so much now especially since it has saved me multiple trips to the local auto repair store in order to identify the check engine light codes and switch them off. I also appreciate how the app incorporates a regular maintenance schedule, such as oil changes, depending on what the mileage is that you input. There is also a suggested maintenance routine tailored for the make and model of your specific vehicle and VIN which helps me to make sure my vehicle is in as top a condition as I can affordably make it.

So I go to the dealership armed with my Fixed see all. I take it out, open the app & see that I have to PAY again for it to work. Now I spent $25 for the gizmo, $199. for something else & now they want another $49 for “lifetime” uses. I don’t have unlimited resources or I’d be buying a new car. I feel like I have been ripped off.

I contacted their support team last year to have them personally cancel my membership and now this year it charged me again 100$ for a premium service that I didn’t reactivate and now they don’t want to give me my refund and when I sent proof of them canceling it last year they ignore!!!! Do not download these people are sketchy and will steal your money

FIXD worked great for a time. Now after a few years, it won’t work at all unless I subscribe for $100 a year doesn’t seem fair. I didn’t sign up for a subscription service. I thought once I bought the tool I owned it and it would work for a long time. Apple says my subscription has expired so this no longer works unless apparently I pay for a premium subscription. How do I get back to working with the free tool?

No issues with the diagnostic tool. However, downloaded the app and then a $99.99 charge showed up on my account…which is the cost for a year “premium” subscription to the app. But when I use the app it tells me i don’t have a valid subscription. Sorry but this tool is worth nowhere near the $120 I paid ($20 for the tool and $99.99 fraudulent charge for the app). Would advise you NOT to download this app.

I bought the $20 OBD scanner—THAT’s it—I did not “subscribe” to any services or purchase anything additional. If you want to charge additional for simply using the app, then I need to be given that purchase option. Don’t just steal $130 when you think I’m not looking. I’m glad my bank froze my card, you thieves.

The Good: The free version can keep track of your car’s tires, wipers, battery, and (a very rough estimate of) oil life. That’s about it. I’ve used it about five years solely for the handy reminders. The Bad: Where to start?? First, the FIXD app can essentially ONLY be used in conjunction with cellular service. Even just out in my driveway, it’s too far from my WiFi router for the app to work. (There is sketchy cell service out here in the sticks.) Second, the app doesn’t provide useful information to anyone with anything more than an EXTREMELY basic knowledge of vehicles. It’s BASIC. The is unable to clear codes on my old, 2013 Toyota. Third, the estimates it gives for vehicle value and repairs are WILDLY OFF, even given the wide range of the “guesstimates”. E.g., fuel pump on my Chevy? FIXD said average $600; actual estimate, $3,260. Vehicle value? $7,900 accordingly to FIXD. Haven’t been able to sell it priced at 3K for months. Fourth, the “Live Data” simply DOES NOT WORK. You can add ONE sensor, that’s it. That one sensor works, but the app claims you can add four or more. There’s no apparent way to do so, however. Add another, and it simply replaces the first. Annoyingly, the app has updates for the tiniest, rare issue seemingly twice a week. Sure, I appreciate the dedication of the developers, but maybe don’t issue an entire new version quite so often. Every couple weeks or month or so, release a version that rolls up several fixes into it, a la Microsoft? It’s bothersome to update so often. Last - and perhaps worst! - the app is a giant, irritating plug for FIXD add-on services (“FIXD Premium”). They’re simply NOT a good value, when one can buy a standalone OBD-II diagnostic device for $5 LESS than JUST the FIXD Bluetooth sensor, even at their near-perpetual “sale” price. Furthermore, the Bluetooth sensor tends to not shut off, draining your car’s battery. Meanwhile, in the app, deceptive advertisement screens state “continue”, which take you to a payment screen instead of, well, continuing to the app, with only a tiny “x” in the corner to bypass the nag screens. A more appropriate user interface would have a “No thanks” button. There is VERY limited functionality and usefulness otherwise if you don’t get gouged for “FIXD Premium”. Bottom line: There are other, better choices for ODB-II monitoring apps.
