Description

Translate and learn millions of words and expressions and express yourself as if you were a native speaker. Reverso is the best tool for those who seek quality translation, looking to master a foreign language: reading, writing or speaking, and it's free. Students, teachers, business professionals or others, whether beginners or advanced, use Reverso to learn new words or expressions, and eliminate the risk of being mistaken. It provides you instant translations of the selected text when reading content on your browser, on Safari or any other app. Reverso Context is based on data gathered from millions of real-life texts (official documents, movie subtitles, product descriptions) in both languages. These texts are processed with powerful "big data" algorithms and machine learning to provide you the best results. What do we mean by context? The search results (translation) of a specific word or expression are weaved within real-life sentences, so you will be sure to understand and learn exactly how the word can be used, and make no embarrassing mistakes. Just type or say the word or expression you wish to translate and the results will appear instantly: relevant translations, presented with examples of how words are used in sentences. The app offers flashcards and quizzes based on your search history and favorites to help you memorize them and to improve your language skills. Unlike standard learning tools, it focuses on words and expressions that you really need and want to learn. The bits and bytes: * Instantly translate selected text when reading content on your browser, iBook or any other app, with no need to exit the app you are using. Click on the familiar "Share" option and select the Reverso option. * Translation in 17 languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Polish, Dutch, Arabic, Russian, Romanian, Japanese, Turkish, Hebrew and Chinese, Korean, Swedish, Ukrainian and we are working on more. * Advanced features include pronunciation, history, phrasebook of your favorites and more. * Create vocabulary lists based on your personal selection of examples and translations. Lists remain available even when you’re offline. * Enjoy natural pronunciation of complete example sentences. * One click to get translations, frequency details, and conjugation when applicable. * Search history, also available offline. * Suggestions: words and expressions will be suggested to you as you type. * Share your findings via email or social media. Auto-renewable subscription terms: Choose a subscription that fits your needs: - Monthly subscription (with a 7-day free trial) for €3.99 EUR; - Annual subscription for €29.99 EUR; These prices corresponds to the same price tier that "Apple's App Store Matrix" determines in other currencies. • What Reverso is really good for

I use Reverso virtually exclusively for English to Russian. Its strength is showing me lots of examples of Russian words and phrases. It’s absolutely not great at translating anything more than one word or phrase at a time from Russian to English.
  • Good, but Voice Could be Better

I really, really like Reverso Context, namely because of its streamlined interface and ease-of-use. It’s truly unique and versatile. The only thing that needs a major overhaul is the voice and pronunciation feature. Please, please fix this to be better. It’s far too robotic, and lacks the natural native sound of indigenous speakers (i.e. Brazilian Portuguese). It’s imperative to hear as closely to the sound of native speakers, especially when learning a new language. I find that I have to use Google Translate to get more of an authentic sound when I learn new words and using the conjugation feature of Reverso. For instance, “great” (ótimo) is pronounced “o-chi-mo”, but Reverso makes it sound like “aw-tee-mu”. Otherwise, this app is one of my main go-to Portuguese apps for BR verb conjugations and word usage. Please change the voices to sound more realistic and natural. I would trust and use this app more often.
  • Switches languages constantly without your consent.

Everytime I try to look up certain words from English to Russian it automatically switches to "french to russian" or "danish to russian" for no reason whatsoever. What I look for when I download a translator is reliability, and this app sadly misses the mark.
  • Best translation and teaching app I have ever used.

I have been very disappointed with the “big boys” entries into this niche. But it turns out the Reverso can do everything I need in order to keep my Swedish fluency, well…fluent! Especially impressive is the ability to test yourself with new words. If Reverso can do this good of a job for a “minor” language, I can’t imagine how important it would be for those who want help with Spanish or French or Russian…
  • Fantastic Aid to Language Learning

I highly recommend this app. This was certainly a labour of love. I’ve used it for the Romance languages and Russian. It has a good dictionary with various plausible synonyms and also shows you the word used in many different relevant contexts. It feels very navigable and natural. One of the best apps I’ve used for translations. You can insert a string of words and the app gives similar examples containing those words. The language selection is limited but has the most spoken languages.
  • The History Lets you down

The AI integration that prevents the translation from being word-to-word is significant. But the only thing annoying is that the history shows individual words only and does not show the whole sentences that you were struggling to make, which makes it very painful to do it again.
  • About 1,000 times better than Google Translate

Finally, translation options with enough context for me to figure out which one I should use in a given situation! No more looking like a fool for using an archaic word I found on Google Translate that sounded right to me. Huzzah!

Estoy aprendiendo inglés y esta aplicación me soluciona la vida. I don’t have to go and use other pages to try to find any other meanings, synonyms or pronunciation issues. Amazing!
  • The best translation app. Hands down.

So the problem with many translators (especially google translate) is the fact that they typically will give you the “correct” translation but since language evolves and CONTEXT matters, this app tops any translation app by showing you hundreds of ways a word can be used. Honestly I could go on forever however I do have one piece of advice for the app developers regarding the voice play back feature. Regarding pronunciation I believe it would be especially helpful to include the phonetic IPA spelling for vocabulary as such found in common dictionaries. This would help those familiar with the IPA language understand how to correctly pronounce the words in the text. Since sometimes it’s a bit difficult to replicate the pronunciation of the voice playback to someone trying to properly pronounce a new word. Other than that the app is amazing. Thanks for your work.
