this is the worst app ever. my mom controls everything i do, sets time limits and it feels so restricting. good parents know not to use apps like these because if you trust your parents, your kid will open up to you for you to tell them whatever is happening. after my mom got this i became more upset, just creating a bad cycle: having my apps off and not being able to do anything, then whenever i have them, i stay engulfed in my phone because i know that i won’t always have my screen time. this app just creates more issues then good. how does it feel to be the absolute lame friend when you can’t stay up past 11 during summer? yeah it’s awful. at parties and sleepovers my 11 o clock deadline always comes and haunts me. i do NOT recommend this app, because it develops a bad relationship with your kids and gives more issues. my mom thinks that taking away my apps will make me talk to her more, and be more “happy”. but i won’t be doing any of the things she wants me to do because i want to do them on my own. i’m growing up and if i need to be more responsible, i should learn to manage my own screen time. sorry if this review sounds very conceited and biased but i had to right this incase i could save another parent and child’s relationship.

So how do I start this is terrible It always turns off the apps at random. And I know I’m a kid but no when my mom tried to turn them back on they wouldn’t turn on. And when my mom told me to delete the app I deleted it and it still turned off my apps. My mom said we are going to switch to bark that’s a better parental app

I was finding Kidslox useful for over a year. I could easily toggle between restricted and parental mode remotely for any of my kids’ devices or directly on the device. I could set and edit schedules easily. The new interface is constantly badgering me to enable push notifications, it has too many silly graphics and it took me a week to figure out how to toggle between parent and child mode. The help is all videos - I prefer to read help pages - and they are not helpful. I will probably end my subscription. The old Kidslox was way better.

Every single time my child’s phone was put into lockdown mode it screwed up how they organized their homescreen. This app is not good and I had to erase my phone and then go off of the backup to get my apps the way they were again. Hope I can get this off my phone

They should have other things a parent should have access to for keeping the app on the device without purchasing a subscription. It is a great app but since it is a free app I shouldn't have to pay to monitor the device.

Neither I, nor my son were using either device containing the app when, this evening, the app automatically deleted my son’s device profile, leaving it suspended in VPN control, but while not being able to reset or remove the control since the profile had been “deleted”. This happened through a forced update within the system. Guidance within the app said to download a new profile through Safari, however, Safari is one of the apps I block access to, so the continued VPN control would not allow me to do the download necessary to fix the app that was controlling the device, even though it said it wasn’t controlling the device. Roughly an hour of research later, I discovered the “emergency” solution to delete the profile through device settings. This is ridiculous. Now switching off Karen mode. Original review- I’ve been looking for an app that provides the ability to safely limit specific app content for a long time. This one does it very well with the added ability to add time restrictions and schedules. The additional benefit of being able to control specific access through either my phone or the restricted device is terrific. The paid subscription is well worth it!
