    Latest update has effectively broken wireless CarPlay functionality. App freezes and crashes more than it works. Great otherwise

  • Poor MacOS Support

    The lack of a volume slider makes this practically unusable for many MacOS workflows. While I understand MacOS has many shortcoming when it comes to app-specific volume control, you shouldn't have to airplay from iOS to MacOS to get this functionality. It’s especially egregious from such an audio-focused application. Otherwise, Overcast is the best podcast player around. While it’s certainly not the best looking, its cross-device sync, filtering capabilities, and smart audio-enhancements elevate the podcast-listening experience for even the most demanding users.

    No app is perfect. No app can read your mind. No app can behave exactly as you want it to. You have to write your own app if you want those things. Overcast does a very good job of allowing the user to tweak their experience with the app, and therefor with their podcasts. I appreciate the reduction in the number of clicks one has to make to do basic sorting and focus changing. There are options to streamline even more; a single click to start an episode. That’s good. Also, better control of playback speed, the ability to skip intros, dead air, etc. I am happy to pay for Overcast; it is worth the small yearly cost.

    I have loved this app for years. I love how you are able to customize every single podcast to your exact liking and make it so your listening experience is tailored to you. I would highly recommend this app for those needing to transfer from Google Podcast. Overcasts discovery and search have never showed me any issue and its options for podcasts you haven’t subscribed to are perfect. The only sad thing is it isn’t on android to which I have made the switch. Keep up the great work team, I will miss you.

    Miles behind other apps in regards to search. Doesn’t find popular podcasts, guest names don’t return anything etc… incredible that this is an “editor’s pick” app.
