It's a great app an I personally like it but I want to learn Spanish but for lesson 2,3,4 and other lessons I need to unlock but for some reason there all subscriptions?
  • Less Ideology Woke

I do not recommend this app for children or teenagers. They want to force Woke ideology, such as neutral language. These are completely unnecessary examples used by the application. You could focus more, for example, on historical events, after all there is very little content on this, and focus less on gender ideology and Woke.
  • Streak logging resets arbitrarily despite calendar stating streaks would reset as midnight

Babel app (iOS) calendar depicting your activity streaks states that streaks are reset at midnight, it’s 8 pm and just lost my streak.
  • Highly disappointed in the course rigor

I have had the app for about a year. I admit my consistency is lacking, but lately I’ve been trying to be consistent. I noticed I was getting everything right on the pronunciation exercises. At first I thought that I was just getting a bit of slack, but today I intentionally mispronounced words and the app said they were correct. I preferred the previous version where I was corrected.
  • Loving the learning experience!

I love that I can learn at my own pace. I can go back and review what I need to practice on.
  • Does not hear my speech

I miss all the questions because you do not hear my answers. I speak on phone - people hear me. What is the problem?
  • Not Very Helpful

    By Traveler 4 Life
App spends a LOT of time on phrases that I’d never use, such as what country so and so is from, my parents are teachers, things like that. They don’t seem to spend any time going over conversational Spanish for travel - how much does this cost, where is the bathroom, etc.

Babbel is clear and concise. Easy-peasy mac’n cheesey.

  • Unscrambling sentences is a useless chore

For the most part the app is tight. It ensures that you see a relevant picture of the words you learn. The narrations are engaging. There is a good mix of the easy with the difficult which the app progressively exposes you to. But it also relies a lot on presenting you with a scrambled phrase that you are required to sort out. This is a huge and unwelcome speed bump on the road of language acquisition that really dampens my enthusiasm. As best I can tell, it only fosters the rather pointless skill of unscrambling letters. And you’ll spend more time doing that instead of checking your pronunciation or learning grammar. I juggle a lot of language apps in my pursuit of learning them and, as far as I can tell, Babel is the only one that employs this method. It’s tedious, pointless and is becoming a real deal breaker in my further association.
