Not as bad as Duolingo but ruined by ideology

I signed in today after a long absence. But as it was giving me questions, it was marking my correct answers as wrong. When I clicked on ‘continue’, the same answers that I had given were shown. These happened about six times I a row. I wonder if the syncing of the lesson was off.

For the new user, learning what the app wants you to do, tap, press & hold, speak, type, is poorly communicated. This can result in low scores and poor grading, stifling growth, just from misunderstanding what the app wants from you. For a learning app that costs real money, I would expect much better. Disappointing. Duolingo does better with this.

So far this app works quite well! (Its different from last app I used! It kept freezing!!) This app operates smoothly and with ease NO PROBLEMS AT ALL really LOVING THIS APP but I already know a lot of Spanish Your app need more basics for a newcomers Love that you teach Alphabet and the different sounds each letters make!! Easy sentences that one can understand then more complex would be better idea! I have used Duolingo Rosetta Stone & this app This one ties with duolingo it teaches why what and where each verb goes ect much better there but yours teach alphabetical sounds and the EXACTLY CORRECT SOUND! Im not happy with Any one App cuz each have good & bad things! So I use both apps to get perfect Spanish lesson plan & the correct needed information
  • Good, but not great (on purpose)

Many good things about the teaching style but it gets the English translations wrong, wrong, wrong. And it’s wrong on purpose because it tries to convey the essence of the sentences rather than a real translation. And this makes it very difficult to do the flashcards because it asks for the translation of a very different English sentence. Conveying the essence of a sentence is valid but Babble takes some BIG liberties. It’s also a problem that the app won’t always allow playback of downloaded lessons unless it’s connected to the Internet. Babbel responded and said that offline mode works fine, but the app still needs to check in online periodically, otherwise it refuses to load downloaded lessons.
  • Very good app but I hope you will improve some things here…

Would be better if you work on the Review page. Make it more customizable to be able to do more comprehensive reviews. Also, will you add words games back?
  • I need to learn from the beginning!

Not helpful at all! And asking for help is a waste of time.

  • Little to no Support

Bought an annual subscription and the first month I started to learn. One day I opened the app and it skipped what seemed to be 4-5 lessons. I had thought maybe I somehow clicked the wrong button but turns out they teach you some basics and move you straight to advance learning. I contacted support on multiple occasions with no response at all. I paid quite a bit of money to learn a language that after a month or so I found unusable. Don’t waste your money on an app with poor technical support. I will try a language app, with better customer service and technical support.
