  • A Great App, But Not Without Its Issues on Mac

OneNote is a powerful note-taking app, but as a Mac user, it comes with several frustrating issues. Syncing can be unreliable, causing versions to get out of sync across devices, and performance is often sluggish, especially with larger notebooks or complex content. Formatting can be tricky, with occasional layout issues, and embedded media behaves inconsistently across platforms. The app also suffers from occasional crashes, particularly with large, complex notes. Additionally, the Mac version feels less intuitive and optimized compared to its Windows counterpart. A long-standing bug with printing and PDF exporting has been an issue for nearly 10 years, and the lack of autocorrect on Mac, which works fine on Windows, is a huge oversight. No native search and replace or automation options are available, which can be a dealbreaker for productivity. While I love using OneNote on my MacBook, I don't have a PC to fall back on for a smoother experience. Hopefully, Microsoft will eventually address these issues and bring the Mac version up to par with Windows.
  • As good as Evernote, But...

The typing lags, and the cursor movement and placement is slow, and sometimes lands a couple letters off from where I tap on the screen. Quite frustrating; otherwise, very good program. I do prefer Evernote, but the cost is just too high.
  • For Mac, A Great Tool With A Few Deficiencies

The Windows version of OneNote is one of the best tools Microsoft ever produced. I used it all the time in my career as an engineer. It really helped me stay organized and on top of all the things I had to do and keep up with through the days, weeks, and months. The Mac version is okay and worth the effort, but sill does not posses all the great handy features of the Windows version. For example, the feature of being able to grab and drag an email and the attachments over into OneNote was super handy. The insertion of hyperlinks into the Mac version is also too clunky. If those few things were addressed, the tool would be awesome again for me.

I was an Evernote user for years and now find the free OneNote to better and zero cost. I use it across Macs, PCs, iPads and iPhone. It syncs automatically and works great. I dumped Evernote!

One Note is my primary note taking tool for everything work & personal. I type as well as hand write note. Here are a few things that would go a long way: - There are still a lot of gaps between the Mac Version and the windows. It will be helpful to align the gaps. - Adding more filters for Search to make it even more effective. - Ability to Pin or mark notes important to easily access it - To Do and One Note integration without a need to use outlook. Gmail is my primary email and it takes a lot of steps to work between the apps.

I purchased Microsoft office September 2023 and I am a heavy user of all of the apps including OneNote. By October 2024, OneNote stopped working, I was unable to sign in on my Mac. I was able to sign on the web version but none of my notebooks were "available". Basically I cannot use OneNote on the web or my computer. The support tech said I needed to upgrade my IOS, however my computer is maxed out on IOS updates but I still I wasn't able to use the web version, so I basically paid for product that I am not able to use (regardless of my Mac - I should be able to use it on web based app). The explaination doesn't make sense and I am super frustrated.

Não funciona de maneira nenhuma no Mac, nem atualizando, nem instalando novamente. É a versão Home 2024 e IOS Sequoia. Decepção.
