  • Inhibits conference experience

This app is a big downgrade from previous years. There are two main goals with conference apps: to build a calendar and read abstracts…this app accomplishes neither. When the app displays the conference events it allows the option to add events and individual talks to “my program,” however the “my program” page has almost no functionality (sort by day is needed for basic use) and does not display like a personal calendar of events (like previous years’ app versions). Instead, the “my agenda” page is supposed to serve as a personalized calendar however it is not populated with the selected events and talks of interest. There is the option to add the talks and events to ical, but why do I need two apps to navigate the conference?! Finally, regarding the abstracts, the abstracts are not internally available in the app but rather sends you to a web-hosted file. Those files are not easily read with mobile devices…you have to zoom and scroll around, dumb. Then when you navigate back to the app, it starts over on the homepage. This app is awful and a hindrance to conference attendees experience.

Can’t do anything on the app as it’s constantly loading and does nothing. Can’t search for talks, can’t set a schedule, can’t do a thing. Tried to load the technical session talks, and it takes a while. It finally loads, and I click the search bar. what does it do? It reloads the whole page. Obviously, no search can be done when the page is forever loading. This GSA event is pretty big. Would it have killed you guys to design an app that can actually function under these conditions? Because—and I’m sorry for stating the obvious—it takes a while to look for a given presentation when you’re in an exhibition hall as large as the one in Anaheim.
  • Hopefully there are still paper programs available

Conference apps always seem to be a little buggy, but this is probably the worst one I’ve experienced.
