I’ve used Clue since 2014. It has served me through 3 pregnancies. A lot of the basics have now gone behind a paywall, which leaves me feeling like my data is being held hostage. If I don’t want to pay for the convenience of features I was used to using, I have to be willing to let go of 10 years worth of tracking. On top of that, even if I pay, some things have just become less intuitive and less convenient. Yes, they’ve added a lot. But why can I no longer customize the order in which my trackable items appear? Such a simple feature, but they either no longer have it or it’s buried deep in the settings.

It would be better if I wasn't bombarded with offers to pay money for this app every time I open it

Seen several recent reviews talking about the quality of the app has changed and everything being behind a pay wall and I totally agree as I’ve been using this app for over five years. I use to pay for the monthly subscription which was $.99 at the time but didn’t see the value in it then so I canceled. Now it’s $4.99 a month and that’s just way too much for features that used to get for free. Thankfully the app isn’t bombarding you to sign up for the subscription after entering your data anymore.

I just deleted my Clue app, though i’ve had it for years. it used to just be there that i could switch to Clue Plus if i wanted to. Now, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I open the app, it gives me a banner ad to switch to the paid version. and THEN, when i go to a different page, I get ANOTHER ad to switch to the paid version. I’m spending more time looking at ads than i am able to track my cycle
  • decent, but annoying to use if you’re not paying

clue does the things that a normal period tracker should do, which i appreciate, but there are so many ads for clue premium. every single day when i log in to track something i have to click out of at least two ads. when i click features that i want to see without knowing that they’re premium features, im redirected to ads. they’re everywhere!!!!!! and a lot of the meaningful features are not available when you are using the free version of the app, like insights about your cycle variation or monthly symptom tracking, which means i have to go through days individually to see if i tracked something when looking at my symptoms. now ive used it for a couple of months and i wish i hadn’t because the longer i use it the harder it gets to switch to another app. its frustrating!!!!

I know this isn’t important and no one cares, but I’ve been using this app for 8 years. I used to be able to look back on my previous cycles and see consistencies and inconsistencies, but now I have to pay extra for something I previously had for free?? When did something as simple as tracking my own personal cycle become yet another ploy for some company to make an extra dollar off of me? I’m tired, and I’m over it.
  • Yes, I’ve heard about Clue Plus…

I’ve been using Clue for years and I’ve loved the information and stats/analysis it provides. They’ve added many new features over the years that are helpful and interesting, as well as updated user interface and more customization. Overall, I would recommend Clue to friends looking for a great tracking app. However I do not subscribe to Clue Plus and the nagging they do to try to get subscriptions is actually making me want to just quit the app rather than buy the subscription. Every time I save after tracking, a full screen subscription ad. I have notifications enabled because I use some of their notification options, but that means that at least once a week I’m getting Lock Screen notifications to subscribe during their (constant) sale. They have in-app banners for new features (which I know I should assume are behind the paywall), but clicking to “learn more” takes you to that full screen subscription ad. It’s just a bit much. I feel like I can’t hit a button in the app without being asked to subscribe. I don’t blame them for having a pay version, and I’m not even saying that they should make more features free! I’m just tired of being asked to subscribe every other screen when I’m trying to use the app. That’s what’s pushing me to consider leaving it. So, yes, I do know about Clue Plus, and maybe one day it would even be a good fit for me! But until then, please stop asking me to subscribe so often that I can barely use what features are available to me for free.

I’ve had this app sense 2013 when I first started and it was great for years but now every time I open the app or click on a different page I have to get thru so many pop ups. It’s just annoying seeing so many ads and locked features when I’m just trying to track my period. I just need one pop up add in the beginning I don’t need one every single time I push a button and go to a different page

Great for tracking my cycle. Bad bc there are constant pop-ups to upgrade. I get it, it’s just annoying.
