Description

Reeder is your all-in-one inbox for reading, watching and listening to content from various sources. From Unread Counts to Timeline Syncing Say goodbye to unread counts! With Reeder, your timeline position is synced across all your devices, letting you pick up right where you left off. Shared Feeds Turn any tag into a public, auto-updating feed that can be viewed in any browser or added to any RSS reader that supports JSON feeds, making it simple to share your curated content. Unified Timeline Reeder supports more than just RSS feeds. It integrates videos, podcasts and social media posts into a single, streamlined view. While it’s not meant to replace full-featured clients, Reeder offers a centralized way to keep track of everything you follow, with the option to open content in other apps (if supported) when you want to dive deeper. Save and Organize Links Easily save links from Safari or any other app to Reeder using its share extension, keeping everything organized and easy to find. iCloud Sync Reeder only syncs what’s important — your subscriptions, timeline position and tagged items (including Links, Favorites, Bookmarks and Later) — across all your devices using iCloud, making syncing faster and more efficient, with changes pushed to your other devices within seconds. Content is fetched directly from the sources, ensuring you always have the latest updates. Terms of Use: https://reeder.app/terms Privacy Policy: https://reeder.app/privacy

Reviews

  • Four issues. #4 is critical.

    1. Fetching new items takes forever. Not good. 2. Swiping away an image is a little too hard. Oftentimes requires extra long strokes. Please make this gesture more sensitive. 3. When in article view, there’s no way to view it in browser unless you scroll back up and tap the article title or use share sheet (which is 2-3 taps). There needs to be another way to view an article in browser once you’re at the bottom of the said article. Old Reeder allowed you to swipe left from the right edge to seamlessly open an article in browser. Bring this feature back. 4. I haven’t fetched new articles in over seven days. When I finally did, dozens (even hundreds) of articles were missing, especially the ones older than the past 24-48 hours. The ones from the past 24-48 hours seemed to be complete and had no items missing. In order to confirm my suspicions, I went to compare my Reeder feed against Feedly feed and, lo and behold, Feedly had way way more unread items than Reeder. Reeder seems to skip a lot of unread items that are older than 24-48 hours. This is a critical issue. One star until all fixed.
  • How is this an “upgrade”?

No indication of unread items. No way to easily mark all as read. Removed The Old Reader as a source. Wish I had not paid for the upgrade; will cancel the subscription.
  • Missing code blocks in markdown

Would love to use this but it doesn’t support code blocks in markdown when reading articles. So basically any technical articles are a no go. Willing to try once that is added. Nice lay out and like the idea or purpose of the app though.
  • Bluesky functionality is extremely unreliable

My Bluesky following feed has not fetched new items in 2 days. And there are certain people’s accounts I have added that are unable to fetch any items in them at all. Please fix this issue.
  • Not for me

This is not what I want in an ‘RSS’ reader.
  • I get it now

I’ve been a long time user of Reeder and I’ll admit that I was disappointed when this was released. I just wanted an updated RSS feed reader and I thought the dev lost their way with this release. I spent the last year cutting back and cutting down on the sites/services that I’ve been using and this app is a great tool in siloing and consuming the stuff I decided to keep… All it needs now is a “pure” black mode for mobile.
  • Certain Bluesky feeds fail to load new items

This happens even after the latest app update. When can we expect a fix?
  • Huge Step Back - Do Not Buy

This app is missing a ton of features already available in the previous app. This just needs to be a visually nice RSS reader. That’s it. The developer does not respond to email/feedback requests as you can see from the other reviews, but charges $10 subscription.
  • Clean layout!

Really nice app layout. I am looking forward to upcoming changes such as smart folders.
  • I’m looking forward to seeing this develop

I’m al long time fan of Reeder. This new app has an amazing look and feel. Having said that, not being able to delete/archive items is super frustrating to those of us who practice inbox zero or just want a clean look. But what is beyond maddening is not having any way to tell what I read and what I haven’t. It’s difficult to wrap my head around how this is considered a feature. Please fix these two issues and this will be the best RSS and read-it-later app in the app store.
