Just use audible or another audiobooks app. Ever since they shifted to a new subscription at the beginning of 2025 they really don’t provide anything beneficial to their subscribers. You get a certain amount of credits depending on your subscription and if you do not use them you lose them. If you don’t have an active subscription then you lose access to the books in your library or the ones you purchased with your credits. Almost every book now requires a credit despite them saying that only premium ones would require credits to unlock. The way they have set up their subscription is almost like audible, but they really missed the mark and made it a poor experience for customers. I would recommend you take your money elsewhere if you can. This is not worth the money or the stress.

I was a long-time Scribd user before it changed to Everand, and like many people was disappointed in the new structure of 1-3 “unlocks” per month… but: I value good books, and the quality and range of the catalog really has improved. I do miss the “unlimited” idea, but there were problems with that in practice, and in doing things this way, there is a lot more clarity. I did have an issue with unlocks in the second month after my membership changed, but this was resolved.
  • New system NOT worth it

They recently switched to one book per month. Based on the description I thought there would still be many books you could access unlimitedly. However they even block librivox free recordings of books in the public domain. Shameful greedy behavior. Do not update if you have not.

When I first got on this app, you could listen to an unlimited amount of books for a flate rate subscription fee. Now, you have to pay for 1 book a month or pay a higher fee for 3 books a month. There is no option to unlock extra books. My biggest issue is being charged $16.99 and then the app saying that I have zero unlocks for another month….. Why am I being charged the 1st of March and not getting my unlocks until April??? Support is hard to reach. Will be canceling my subscription.

1- your access to you library, your collected books is only viable till you are subscribed. 2- if you dont use your 3 or 1 unlocks, they will expire every month. In Audible app- none of these issues exist. Story- So, i have had this subscription when it used to be srcibd and in its baby stage. And all was good till this year sometime I had to idk sign a new contract and I became an Everand user. Than all the books that I could read suddenly needed unlocks even the free kind of books whick use never be in “available soon” list. Expirable unlocks and library hijack seems unethical to say the least. These two are the most pain points for me personally, I was among the first customers and this is how years of subscription is being treated. I have more than 100 books in my library which I listen to from time to time. This is Very bad.

I used to love this app, but since they changed the subscription preferences I find it really annoying that I have to click on each book/audiobook to find out if it needs to be “unlocked”. There should be a filter that makes it so we’re not including premium books in the search. I’m considering canceling my subscription after having it for years.

I used to love this app and told everyone about it. The new plan is terrible and barely has any unlimited options. Before this they let me keep the legacy plan but I couldn’t select any new books. That’s underhanded. 100% you will lose a lot of customers
  • App is horrible

That’s the review- they increase the subscription price but the app continues to be trash- take some of that profit and upgrade your garbage @ app
  • Most of the titles are now “premium”

I’ve been a yearly Everand (formerly Scribd) user for years and I was excited to see the notification saying that they’re expanding their catalog with titles I was hoping to see! Then when I clicked I was greeted with an even HIGHER price tag saying that they’re now including “premium” titles. Now looking at the books I have saved, half of them are premium and I can’t even listen to them unless I pay even more than I already have been. Bad move. You’re just pissing off your customers that you’ve had for years. Won’t be renewing my subscription

Used to have a vast unlimited selection. Now anything you may want to listen to as audiobook is either one or three a month depending on your plan. Use apples pay per at deal prices or Audible this app is now a waste.
