Microsoft places a banner ad at the top of each file when you open it. If this were a free app, fine. It isn’t.

Many time I am at a loss as to how to correct issues. One that is particularly frustrating is taking the write protect off my documents in order to edit.

  • M365 Copilot causing issues

Since the update of Word to M365 I have encountered issues with editing documents. I use Read Out Loud to review documents, as it helps me hear missing words or improperly structured sentences. If I attempt to edit a document, I am able to press the backspace once, then nothing happens. There a pause of up to 30 seconds before the document updates. Then it applies any updates I attempted while the application was hung. This initially caused me to have correct more than a single word. Now I know it will hang, and I wait, but it frustrating. There is no option to disable Copilot, it continually asks if I want the document summarized. I do not, especially since it costs me a credit if I tap it by mistake. You didn’t know that? Well, now you do! You get 30 ‘free’ credits each month, then you need to purchase additional credits - IF you use Copilot. Yep! You PAY monthly to use Office 365, and you PAY to use Copilot! Additionally, the logo changed, which is annoying, since I am used to old logo. I am very close to looking for another document editor! These ‘advances’ have slowed down my production - greatly!
  • Frustrating lag, dictation mistakes

Word on iPad has potential to be great but is plagued by two major issues: 1) dictation is erratic, sometimes working great, sometimes missing spaces, jamming words togethe; and 2) more recently, the lag when typing from a Bluetooth keyboard makes it almost unusable—often I type several words before they appear on the screen (and it’s not a Bluetooth issue—typing this review is working great). Has Word just become too top-heavy with predictive text, auto-correct, and now Copilot to function as a word processor?

As a field tech I need to submit deliverables to project managers and teams. This software gives me the flexibility to create awesome reports that are very organized and easy to read.

Keep Office simple and stop trying to include A.I., other services, and stop the confusing branding changes. The icon is ugly, the name is clunky and meaningless.

Trying to do a simple scan and pdf creation on my phone. The new app crashed and locked up several times and then would not save in the location I selected. Integration with OneDrive sync is very unreliable and hard to use. How hard is it—not only is it buggy, the UI is very unintuitive. Let’s maybe focus more on functionality and usability than new logos that mean nothing.

Too much stuff in the app… can’t even upload simple photo to files by browsing library.

Our business runs on Microsoft, yet interoperability is poor. Connectivity between teams and one drive doesn’t work on mobile devices.
