I’ve used Bible Gateway for many years. But after I updated it a few months ago I rarely use it now. I dislike the pop up ads. But mainly that when I open it up, it doesn’t open up on what I read last. The page is blank and I have to select a translation version before the Bible will appear. And it always is Genesis first chapter. So I can’t just resume from where I left off. I’ve started using another Bible app now. Only reason I keep Gateway is it’s easy to search for a specific verse by word(s) in the verse.
  • Revisited App Today——Fairwell

HarperCollins Christian..the developer’s name seems to be an oxymoron—to take a perfectly excellent Bible app and make it essentially worthless…there is an agenda there that is much more than meets the eye. May God judge you according to your works…
  • Audio Feature Broke

This app was working pretty well for me until this last week. I have been listening to the Bible this year, and it would always pick up where I left off. Now it keeps skipping around, and I have to go back to where I was. Please fix that bug! I don’t want to have to find a new app.
  • Notes & Ads

I actually really like the app. The search algorithm is really good. I gave it one star to get some attention for functionality improvement. I wish that notes ties to a scripture could be accessed from the icon created in the text. Instead I have to go to the Notes menu item, then scroll, and hunt to find the note related to where I was. I don’t like the ads. But I get that things cost money. The other Holy Bible app does donation drives. Not sure how affective it is.
  • New version has audio of only the New Testament

This would be a 4- or 5- star review, but after the latest update, the app seems to include only the New Testsment in the audio version. It was a great app, especially for audio—not just a huge number of translations, but multiple readers for many of the translastions. But now they took away the part that I was actually using (audio of the Old Testament) and it makes me sad.
  • Lots of bugs

There are so many bugs and it looks like they are not being fixed. Could be a great app. Example: Obadiah sound always skips to Jonah. When changing chapters font changes. Way too unstable to use.
  • Objectionable ads. Uninstalling app.

Objectionable ads pop up when I want to view scripture. Not appropriate for a Bible app. Ads stay up for a minimum of 5-15 seconds without an option to close. Real bugs are not addressed such as app crashing when searching for scripture. Uninstalling app.

Irrelevant ads pop up up in the middle of your reading. Not good! Looking for another bible app that doesn’t sell itself this way.
  • Underware ads? WTH!

Use the Blue Letter Bible app instead! Now with this new version, pop up ads for underwear are taking over the entire screen. Explain that one to your Bible study partners. Please remove the random ad machine before the kids see black underware ads. Thanks.

Why would a Bible app let advertisers put Britney Spears half clothed body on an ad? Dairy Berry, disappointed in all of you
