  • Waste of time and money

Every time I have to use this, I to REDOWNLOAD the camera hub on my pc to work. This NEVER detects my desktop through wifi no matter what troubleshooting I have to go through. I have done everything to try and make it work. Either the Camera Hub is the problem or the EpocCam app. Either way, they need to patch this bug on both ends.

Support is terrible. Website gives incorrect instructions on using with obs. No matter what I try it does not show up in obs. Even with elgato cam hub installed and on. Waste of 8 bucks. Highly disappointed.

The video lags badly. Only useable when doing VIDEO ONLY recording.

I purchased the full version but it didn’t make any difference. All I get is a blank green screen when trying to connect to anything but the CameraHub

I never changed my devices, cords, or wifi and it all worked great. Then they had an update, and now the app can’t connect to my computer.

I began using EpocCam for my twitch streams a few weeks ago. When it works it is an amazing alternative to a webcam but the problem is that more often than not it doesn’t work. Connection issues are the norm. Connecting via WiFi only works about 25% if the time and it absolutely eats your battery and heats up your phone making it a bad choice for anything other than short streams. Connecting via usb also has its issues. You have to have a powerful enough cable and half of the time even with the correct cable it will disconnect about 10 minutes into streaming/recording or just straight up not work. I tried many different hotfixes and found that nothing really worked long term so I was basically just rolling the dice to see if it would work or not. I ended up just buying a regular 4K webcam. Save your money and just get a webcam.

Love the performance and the fact that it supports screen dimming (I understand ios has limitations here) so the device doesn’t need to get to hot and wear out the battery as much during a stream. Only thing I’d love to see is all settings saving as a profile. For example every single time I launch it I go select NDI > 1080p > disable mic > select virtual green screen filter. Hopefully that’s not too hard to implement and I’m sure having multiple profiles could be a huge benefit for some streamers too!
  • Connects most the time

Epo connects most of the time but sometimes it doesn’t work for almost no reason. I use this as a video recorder on my laptop becuase it’s so much faster having the files there, rather then transporting them. I think that if it wasn’t so slow I would’ve loved this app.

Bought Pro version because I liked the app. Now it will connect for a split second and then disconnect. Have tried everything— does not work.
  • Super laggy

In theory a great concept but the app is lagging so bad that it makes it unusable. I do not recommend purchasing the premium version since it seems to lag significantly more than the free version. I have connected my phone via USB as well as WiFi and always have this issue.
