I have used GPSmycity a number of times on recent trips, and find it very helpful, primary getting to know a new place. I use it as a starting point, and when walking through a city I frequently will look at it to get information and highlights. I have and will continue to recommend it to friends and family.

I’ve used this app across the world for over two years. It provides an effective walking tour without paying for “free” or paid walking tours in most cities. The small annual fee is worth it as you can go for a walk on your own and not on another’s schedule.

I used this in Europe a few times in 2023-24 and it was mostly OK. It worked technically reasonably well though locating yourself if you don’t slavishly follow their route can take a minute. Most of the commentary was fine. I only used it in relatively obscure locations and it did indicate some things I’d have otherwise missed. In 2025 I tried it in a couple of Canadian cities and the routes were mediocre, with limited commentary. I canceled the subscription immediately - and that was shown on the Apple Store as canceled - but nevertheless the app charged me for an annual subscription. Keep an eye on your purchases.

My wife and I spent six weeks in Europe cruising and traveling on land to many cities and towns. This App has allowed us to take many self-guided tour excursions for the cost of the annual subscription of less than $20. The App provides many choices of walking tours for each town or city of interest. The GPS map system was great as was the detailed explanation of each site on each tour. This was a fantastic choice that greatly enhanced our trip.

Gave this app a try on our latest trip to Europe. I love walking around a city so really enjoyed the suggested itineraries and helpful notes in GPSmyCity. The outlines and directional arrow really help you navigate and get out and explore! Definitely worth the price as many cities included.

Great concept that’s sadly executed. Used it in Bratislava for my first visit. The voice is like circa 2010 computer generated. The map is like sticking dots on a blank sheet of paper.
