    First time using the Airbnb app. We reserved an apartment located downtown San Antonio. Had great reviews, pictures looked good and a 4.9 on cleanliness. We arrive to our Airbnb and noticed the floor would creek pretty bad. There was dust everywhere. We found hair also in some places. The sofa was covered in stains & crumbs. There was a towel in the washer (only had a washer) the dishwasher was very dirty also the keurig, the bed sheets seem dirty too. It obviously looked like the place has not been cleaned in a while. We didn’t even stay for an hour there. I let the host know, also taking some pictures for evidence. I didn’t get every single thing because I thought the ones I did take were enough for anyone to tell this place was not cleaned. The host ends up telling it was cleaned that day and to send the pictures. He then told me I had to speak with Airbnb customer services because I asked for a refund. They end up telling me I can not get a refund because it was “minor cleanliness” and only cared if I had a picture of the towel in the washer but not the sofa that had stains all over. I couldn’t even get a partial refund. Airbnb only cares about the host and will side with them even if they are in the wrong. THEY DELETED BAD REVIEWS ON THEIR APP.

    The problem with AirBnb can be summed up by saying it could potentially ruin a vacation or save a vacation with many factor built in between. Firstly it’s layered as to who to blame. First there are AirBnb policies and then there are hosts. A hotel for example may clearly state the rules and allow rearranging travel because they have many rooms available. Airbnb just has the one place you booked with a host who has options to rearrange, change, or refund. Also those hosts aren’t necessarily great when it comes to customer service. For example if you get sick and need to move a reservation around hotels and airlines are understanding. Airbnb host might just take your money and run with no recourse other than a bad review. Which AirBnb favors the host because you cannot sort by good or bad reviews. It gives the average rating and then you have to sort through to find the bad reviews. While I have experiences reasonable host who are accommodating. I have also experienced a host who just took my money for no services rendered. This is the reason why I cease to use AirBnb ever again.

    Some of these hosts have the most insane cancellation policies found nowhere on earth - 50% refund if cancelled at any point in time, 100% upfront. Not only that, but you can’t even review the host after interacting with them. I will never use Airbnb again - see ya

    Airbnb is the worst they will lock your account for no reason and the customer service doesn’t do anything to help time for them to revamp their company
