    I’m a Courant subscriber. I read the paper on line every day through the online version (not the app). The app is unbearably slow, probably because of the ridiculous number of ads that load.

    Can’t read the Courant if the app doesn’t work! Paying for subscription but can’t read the paper. Time to cancel.

    You can sign up with your Yahoo account. There is no way to sign in with your Yahoo account. Makes the app worthless. Update: 1 year later and still same problem. Guess I cancel subscription.

    Even after several years, I’m still so disappointed in the Courant’s apps for iPhone & iPad. No where near the content of the physical paper. Lots of old news continues to appear on top of screens. Lots of repeat stories as I scroll. Too heavy with photos stories. Too many good paper apps - get your IT guys to do a real update.

    I am a paying subscriber to the Hartford Courant. Yesterday I upgraded my Hartford Courant App. This morning I was greeted by the following message TAP ALLOW TRACKING ON THE NEXT SCREEN TO CONTINUE There was no opt out feature. I pay for my Courant Subscription. The Hartford Courant DOES NOT ALLOW the user to reject tracking. Again, I PAY for my subscription. I was stunned by the position taken by the Courant. Perhaps it was somewhere in the fine print, but to my eye the Courant NEVER disclosed the REQUIREMENT to accept add tacking as a condition of its latest upgrade. Their stance is APPALLING. Apple has done a terrific job helping consumers manage their add tracking choice. For those folks that chose to share their data, that is a personal choice that meets their needs. For those of us that don’t chose to share their data and PAY for the subscription, the Courant has taken a very poor stance on the issue. For the nation’s oldest continuously published newspaper, it is a big disappointment. The New Hartford Courant App forced add tracking for PAID subscribers is 100% at odds with Apple’s policy of consumer choice. I implore the Courant to remove this feature. If not I must request that the APP be removed from the Apple App Store as its stance is inconsistent with Apples values and policy.

    News paper apps are not all the same. To see a truly great one check out the Providence Journal! It’s right next door but what a difference.

    Three issues: 1. Repetition of stories when scrolling down in the same section. If it’s at the top of the breaking news, I don’t want to see it again 2-4 times as I scroll down that section. Happens constantly. 2. Grammar check the headlines. For a news organization, the Courant is awful. For example, April 6 2021 story leads “New Haven charged with stealing $20,000 of rims and tires from car dealerships” - really?! The city of New Haven has been stealing rims and tires. Still not corrected 5 days later - is there even an editor looking at this? 3. Outdated articles. A couple of weekends ago I was wondering if the Courant stopped reporting over the weekend as all the stories seemed to be days old. The print edition seems to change, but the app doesn’t. That said, overall the reporting is solid and the articles relevant.

    Account holder, using my correct username and password, & unable to use this app. I’ve contacted customer service for help, and that was useless. But somehow they still manage to correctly deduct $$ from my debit card each month fir the subscription. I’m ending that today.

    Your paper is so politically bias it makes me want to stop my subscription. The editorial page offers only one point of view with the occasional token offering. Letters to the editor the same and now a few cartoons which were sacred from politics.You are doomed to go out of business I get the paper because of a few offerings- obituaries,puzzles, local news and events.The e-paper is a disaster to navigate.Constant loss of the content and return to page 1. I see no hope. W Ertelt
