This paper has turned into garbage since Bezos bought it. Time to leave.
  • The app might as well be worthless with Jeff

Jeff is continuing to override the editorial board to control the narrative of politics.

I have cancelled my subscription in disgust at the way the Washington Post is now mishandled by its owner, losing its way and violating its mission, in service now to the almighty dollar vs reporting the news and standing up for what’s right.

I have lived in the DC area my whole life and loved the Washington Post print and then online version. Ever since Jeff Bezos took over, it’s gone completely downhill. When they decided to not endorse Kamala that was pushing me towards the edge. And now I just learned they are changing their motto of “ Democracy Dies in Darkness “ to “ Riveting Storytelling for All of America “. The best part about the Post before was they stood up for what was right. They wrote stories that were uncomfortable but absolutely necessary. Now they are playing to lowest common denominator. So sad to see this for what was once a wonderful paper and institution in our area. So I have unsubscribed and moving on.
  • Unwanted AI to answering questions is a downgrade

Prefer to have human reporters doing human reporting; if I have questions about the news, I’d direct them towards humans, not robots. You’ve added a feature I shall never use. Ugh.

This used to be a really good paper. Then Bezos bought it. They refused to endorse a candidate in 2024 thanks to orders from Jeff Bezos, then pull a political ad that was critical of Trump. Then the editorial board endorses an election denier for Attorney General. Yes, democracy dies in darkness. They were ordered by Bezos to blow out the light, and too many went along with it to save their jobs instead of mass resignations. Shame on all of you who still work there. Shame. You helped put the nail in the coffin of this democracy.
  • Failure to endorse Harris/Waltz

They don’t stand up for Americas. At one of the most critical points in Americas history the WP editorial board failed to endorse a Presidential Candidate who stands for freedom.

The Post is a different paper before Mr Bezos bought it and after. I had the print subscription for over 25 yrs and then went digital about 3 yrs ago. The paper used to offer unbiased journalism and I feel like the paper is leaning in a direction that supports certain biases . The fact that a candidate for President was not endorsed this election cycle was pretty telling. I will be letting my subscription expire when my current plan expires.
